“Incredible experience, treated like a king and queen, FABULOUS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

For our honeymoon night we wanted to stay somewhere in Marbella that would be unique and we were not disappointed with Hotel Claude. It is the most amazing experience. Right from the moment you enter the hotel, you are treated like a king and queen. Superb attention by staff, lovely ambience and so beautifully clean everywhere. This is a true gem and an experience not to be missed. Breakfast on the top terrace is amazing. With rooftop views across to the church towers, sea and mountain views, we were served the most delicious breakfast, so fresh and loved every mouthful. For our honeymoon, it was everything that we had looked for. Intimate, modern yet keeping the charm and beauty of the original property, and incredible service. Thank you Maria and everybody else at Hotel Claude for making our stay in Marbella one to look back on with very happy memories. You and your staff made us so welcome and you deserve to be rated one of the best hotels in Marbella on TripAdvisor. Incredible experience xx

We spent five nights at this hotel in early October. The hotel is exactly as shown on the website. Beautiful decor, very clean and luxurious.Little touches like complimentary bottled water in the room, coffee machine, Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, not to mention the nightly chocolate at the side of the bed helped make it all feel like a special treat. The location is great, very quiet but easy access to the Old Town and a fabulous choice of restaurants and bars. We enjoyed our breakfast on the roof terrace each morning - a wonderful platter of fresh fruits and freshly squeezed orange juice to start, followed by pretty much whatever you wanted. We also enjoyed a quiet read or chat with a cool drink on the roof terrace at the end of the day.The hotel arranged a taxi transfer from the airport for us, which all went very smoothly (70 Euros each way). We would love to return one day and will recommend to friends. We will also be looking out for small intimate hotels like this in other places - the manager mentioned one in Barcelona, so would love to find out more about that.

We chose to stay at Hotel Claude for a relaxing, off-season trip to Marbella with very little advanced planning and could not have been more pleased with how it turned out. With minimal knowledge of the town and its attractions, we found HC's location to be ideal in that it is located in old town in close proximity to the beach and most of what is charming about Marbella. The building itself is a beautiful old home kept very clean and in pristine condition with a uniqueness that was a welcome departure from the larger resort-style properties that line the beach. The rooftop terrace offers a fantastic venue for breakfast as well as evening drinks among the spires and steeples of old town. We found the location of HC to be outstanding as it sits toward the quieter upper portion of a narrow, predominantly pedestrian, thoroughfare that offers some great dining and drinking options, is extremely close to Orange Square and takes 5 minutes by foot to reach the beach. The real reason to stay here, however, is the service. The team was remarkable in their hospitality. We truly felt that we could ask them for assistance with anything and most of the time did not have to as our needs were anticipated. For example, upon realizing that our car would not be moved in time to avoid a parking citation in the morning, the staff proactively found us a new parking spot, moved our vehicle and paid for the incremental parking charges incurred all before we awoke. When we had an extremely early morning departure, the staff saw to it that we had a printed set of directions back to Madrid (in English) awaiting us along with a full breakfast and coffee...all at 4am. We have numerous other examples of the great service provided but in the interest of brevity, suffice it to say that the staff all offered quality service and attention without seeming intrusive. We would not think of staying anywhere else in Marbella and hope to return soon.

Hotel Claude, in our experience, is five star treatment and amenities, but with personal attention from a friendly courteous and accommodating staff/not stiff formalities. You really feel at home and comfortable.

- Very pretty room
- Very pretty public spaces
- 24 hour room service that is very reasonably priced and delicious
- Perfect functioning wi-fi
- library of movies to watch
- if you need anything, they help you figure it out, or actually, figure it out for you....for me this was trustworthy baby-sitting and laundry services
- Lovely location in charming old town of Marbella...lots of cute, yummy restaurants nearby

- Only con, if you want to work out, the gym is a bit of a hike to get to, though very very nice.

Think Marbella and you think glitz. Well, you do if you are over a certain age! But the town is now much more chic than it used to be as well as clean and safe. There are the grand hotels - the Puente Romano, the Marbella Club and the Don Pepe - and they are all very good, but if you want something less showy and more like home, the Hotel Claude is for you. Set in an old town house only a few minutes stroll from Orange Square, the Claude is an oasis of calm. It has only seven bedrooms so gather a few chums together and you can take over the entire hotel! We stayed in the Suite which, by 5* standards is more of a large room than a suite (and no door on the bathroom so be prepared to be European!), but neverteless clean and comfortable with flat screen TV, iPod docking station and ample wardrobe space. The bathroom is vast with both a roll top bath and a walk in shower but could do with more space to put things on. As my wife said, it was obviously designed by a man! We ate breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the towers and spires of the old town. The staff were very helpful and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. If I was to have one moan it would be the price. It is not cheap for what is, in reality, a B and B, but it is a chilling place to stay in a great location.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

We are pleased to know that you felt "at home" away from home in our boutique hotel in the heart of the historic old town of Marbella.
You are absolutely right in pointing out that our so-called "Suite Francesa" is not a suite by American hotel standards for example. It is a smaller property with only 7 rooms dating back tothe 17th century (once the summer palace of the wife of Napoléon III) and we have tried to keep the traditional features and given them a modern touch. The rooms are spacious and yes the Suite Francesa is the biggest of our 7 rooms and hence we have called it our "Suite Francesa" but you are right that it cannot be compared with big hotel suites. We try to give a 5 star service and I´m sorry that you were not able to enjoy our snacks, tapas and drinks on our roof top terrace or in our restaurant. Our guests mainly sleep and have breakfast but we do offer tapas and light meals and if we know in advance we can offer a gourmet meal that we tailor make for our guests. We can even organize a gourmet experience for our guests by inviting them to come shopping to the local market and we can also arrange for tapas cooking classes with our freelance chef that we hire for these occasions.
If we have the honour to accommodate you again in future, please don´t hesitate to enquire about special dinners or lunches as we can cater for them.
The bathroom was indeed designed by a man but we can add furniture to the bathroom when and if needed. I apologize that you were not made aware of this.
We appreciate your comment and hope to welcome you back some time in the future.

The wonderfully relaxing decor and the very helpful staff made my stay most pleasurable.. Just 24 hours, but I will return when I need to stay in Marbella! This is a boutique hotel worth booking well in advance. Great ambience and nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommended.

Since the time we arrived at this small charming hotel we were welcomed with great courtesy. Even with our reservation having failed on site they found a way and got a room. During our stay everything we asked was answered with good will. The manager is amazing, very helpful.
The location is good but we do not like this beach next to the hotel. By car you can go to great beaches. Parking the car next to the hotel was a little problem. The breakfast is very good. fresh fruits, iougurt and delicious cereals. We recommend
