You can not get to this hotel from Malaga with TomTom Satnav or Google maps.
Both try to direct you down Av de Lola Flores which is a Pedestrian Avenue.
There is another route from the San Pedro exit but there were so many turns that
we found it easier to go up 3 miles to the Estapona exit then loop back,
the TomTom then directed us correctly from there. The turn is in front of a garage
and runs down beside what looks like a derelict area, don't let this put you off.
Because the flight was late arriving in Malaga, the car rental had enormous queus and the directions were faulty we were very late getting in. The room was exactly as expected and very nice.
We ordered room service, just a burger and chips which were very good but very large and a pepsi. This came to 37 euro.
We booked the Junior Suite with Jacuzzi and had sea views which were lovely. We were given room 403.
The room was fitted with two single beds pushed together, which I'd already read in complaints about this hotel. Seems as if they would automatically figure that two people booking a double bed would want that bed to be made as one. I remade it the first night. The following night, housekeeping got the point and made it as one. As there are so many complaints of this, the hotel should bear this in mind and make a double bed booking into one bed, or better yet, invest in zip linked beds.
The suite was clean, tidy and very spacious with loads of storage and a handy kitchenette.
Kitchenette was nicely fitted with most everything you need.
Two terraces, both upper and lower terraces came with lounges and dining tables, the top terrace with a Jacuzzi which was filled, clean and warm on our arrival.
I would suggest that the hotel could use a bit more lighting on the top terrace where the jacuzzi was located.
As it was very dark we bought a battery operated magnetic LED light from LaCanada in Marbella at 4 euro and used that during our stay to have a bit more lighting in the jacuzzi area.
The bathroom had a large walk in rain shower with duck board as well as a jacuzzi bath, all clean and tidy and again very spacious. Amenities were well stocked with shower gel, body milk, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and brush, razor and shaving cream and shower cap. Hair dryer was also available along with a retractable clothes line over the jacuzzi bath.
Television in both lounge and bedroom was better than most european hotels with several British channels as well as Spanish, German and Italian.
I believe smoking was permitted in the room, though I only smoked on the terrace. Requesting an ashtray was no problem.
Mini bar was well stocked though a bit pricey at anywhere from 4 - 6 euro per item. But there are
shopping centers nearby in Puerto Banus. Hypercor as well as OpenCor which opens on Sunday.
We had the power trip off twice while there but staff were immediately there to trip the switch back.
Internet was free, but our experience was that it was fairly unreliable, twice we had to go downstairs to access it through the lobby because it wasn't available in the room.
Our room included breakfast which was a buffet breakfast in the Lorea restaurant and I simply can not fault the breakfast as the eggs are cooked to order and there were massive selections of fruits, cheeses, meats, cereals, pastries, etc.
It rained on our last day thus we didn't want to walk to Puerto Banus in the rain so we decided to
eat at the Abanda restaurant in the hotel once we discovered they were open for lunch (nothing indicates this).
The lunch there was lovely, service superb. Partner had Veal Milanese style with spaghetti. It was delicious though the portion was enormous. I had the chicken fillet with fries and vegetables and again this was delicious.
Along with a bottle of wine the meal came to 52 euro which was a surprise as the meals were actually charged to us for less than what was listed on the menu. I would happily eat there again.
There appears to be free parking around the perimeter of the hotel but it was very full. We paid for parking at 13.64 euro per day which we found worth the price as they parked the car for you in their underground garage then brought it up to you when you requested.
I have hip replacements and I still did not find the walk into Puerto Banus a problem. It was a very pleasant walk along the beach. However if you don't enjoy walking taxi's are available in the front of the hotel and averages 5 euro into Puerto Banus and 10 euro into Marbella.
October is a lovely time to visit as it's off season and not so busy but the weather was still lovely
only having an odd shower during 4 days, on the 5th day it flooded but we were headed back to the airport.
Probably too cold to swim in the ocean but the temps were perfect walking along the beach and for enjoying the jacuzzi on the terrace.
This hotel appears to offer budget rooms as well as luxury rooms. I can't speak for the budget rooms but our Junior Suite with Jacuzzi was everything we had hoped it would be.
Overall I was very pleased with my stay. We certainly found the staff very friendly and extremely helpful.
I would definitely return to this hotel.
The Junior Suites are excellent if you want luxury ask for suite with view of the sea.
