“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We booked a room with a seaview and it was a great size with two large beds and was well cleaned every day. The staff were excellent and friendly and very attentive. We were B&B and the breakfast was fantastic, with an excellent range of fruits, meats and cheeses as well as cereals, pastries and the more typical British fare. The hotel is well situated - a 3 min walk into the centre of P Banus and virtually on the beach front.
A couple of points to note - we arrived after a late flight (2am) and could not get any room service, although there is a mini bar thats reasonably priced. Secondly, I had read remarks about a lack of parking and it is true that you may struggle to get a space right in front of the hotel, but the surrounding roads are quiet and I parked my hire car 1 minutes walk, around the corner and it was perfectly ok!
I would thouroughly recommend this hotel and will be returning when I can.

Room Tip: The sea view room we had had the sun in the morning but not in the evening

Dear Valued Guest,

Thanks for your comments on your stay in the hotel!

I’m pleased to read that the staff was up to your standards and that you had a wonderful bed & breakfast stay with us. In regards to the parking, there is almost always availability around the hotel but as a safety we always offer the parking garage at a daily rate. I´m glad you would recommend the hotel and we look forward to welcoming you for your next stay in Puerto Banús!

Sincerely yours,

Juan Ignacio Broncano, GEX and Human Resources manager

Great location and lovely rooms! Very close to beach and town! Lovely swimming pools and excellent service. There were a very drunk group of people on a work do who kept breaking glasses but staff handled it very well and politely. Wifi was excellent and the breakfast outstanding! No complaints although drinks were pricey but then I guess so is the area. Guess only negative would be the €16 parking fee

The rooms are spacius and the bathrooms are big. This is a vacation hotel that I would stay at again. The staff is friendly and helpfull - and can manage big Groups arriving:) They where prepered for us 53 persons arriving at once. We did not wait long to get our rooms.
The Beach is really near by, and if not you have 2 large pools at the hotel. The breakfast and lunch is not so good arranged. For warm foor (eggs and meat) you had a long line waiting. But the foos itself was verry good.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thanks for your feedback about your stay at our hotel.

We’re so glad to hear that your large group’s check in went smoothly-the perfect way to start the vacation. Also, although there was a line to get your show cooking meal fresh off the stove, we’re glad you enjoyed the food itself. We’d love to welcome you back if your travels ever bring you back to Puerto Banús, Málaga.

Best,

A very well managed Hotel however the front approach is a bit off putting as you feel you are driving along an industrial estate
A great welcome ,not sure why it takes so long to check in on the Level area ,the young girl who looks after you needs to chill out a bit and try a smile
The room was on the second floor a junior suite but very noisy too !! just outside are the cleaners room and lift ,the store room door is constantly slamming and rattling bottles most of the afternoon
The room was very clean although its a long walk down the corridor great for keeping fit
The porter was a good advert for the hotel
There is a charge for the mini bar which was free in Alicante ( soft drinks and beers)
The Dinner was 40euros and buffet style with meat and fish of your choice cooked freshly for you but after two nights you will want to eat elsewhere, again the staff were great and a great asset to the hotel
Breakfast was buffet style and catered for all tastes and faultless apart from one of those awful toast machines which never toasts bread properly
There are lovely gardens and several pools
The Level area is great with every taste catered for the " open bar " is a bit disappointing with only spirits and wine no vermouth etc
The management are also out and about ( just a little tip go check emergency exits normally blocked by room service trays !!!!!)
There is a back entrance so you can walk along to the Marina with fancy boats but shops closing up fast every where but there is still lots of bling to look at and plenty of food outlets
Watch out for pick pockets we were overwhelmed by three ladies trying to give us flowers but managed to push them away
The promenade is a bit worn and needs a tidy but its still a great walk to the Marina watch out for speeding bicycles though as they come speeding up behind you
The safe is worked by your credit card (no charge) but it means you have to carry it with you
The Level soft drinks selection is very limited no juices and only water and diet colas for diabetics
Overall. Very good Hotel with vert pleasant and efficient staff

If you are looking for a intimate, friendly, comfortable and affordable luxe this hotel is for you.
Great location- 5 minutes walk to downtown Puerto Banus, to the beach ..
Spacious,well-equipped rooms. Free safe, which closes with your credit card. No need to be scared, I used a bank card that expired in 2010 and the safe worked so no charge at all. Guaranteed!!! Free wifi.
For those looking for some top details, I'd suggest you to book the level rooms, which provides access to an elite salon with snacks 24/7, drinks, individual check in,and so on...
Very friendly, attentive staff.
Food??? Well, I wouldn't define it as excellent. It's more than that. Tasty, varied and high quality.
Yes, I'm definitely coming back!

Room Tip: Room 229 was great, has a wonderful view to the river and the sea.

Hello,

I am catching up.... Last year, in October 2012 I have spent 4 days at the Melia for the second time and liked it very much. Even the standard rooms are ok, with fantastic comfy beds and nice bathrooms! Breakfast was great and if you have dinner you will be able to chose your fish and ask the cook how he should prepare it. The choice is not that big but the quality is still the same!

The indoor pool is tiny mini - nothing to do with the published picture.... So don't expect something huge! :) The beach is at 50 m of the hotel. The promenade is also just next door. It is very nice to stroll to the harbour of Puerto Banus after dinner... Just beware of some pick pockets - but they are unfortunately everywhere in that area.

I would really recommend this hotel - it is good value for money in that specific area!

Sara

Room Tip: All rooms are ok. You can ask for sea view - but you will only get a glance of the sea... Garden vie...
