“The best in Marbella ?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Beautiful cool courtyard, away from the street, and all the better for it. Excellent sea food menu, and friendly attentive service. €130 for four, including wine. Really good value considering the quality of the food. Definitely going there again next time we're in Marbella.

“Real Spanish deal in Marbella”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

A Spanish restaurant in Marbella? Yes.... bang in the centre of the old town, where hundreds of hungry tourists pack nightly like sardines in the narrow streets, chowing down on international fusion food, there is Mariscal's patio, a tranquil haven where four of us enjoyed one of the finest Arroz con Bogavante I have eaten - and over 12 years of living in Spain I have eaten a few. The cool patio with its dominating ancient fig tree is presided over by Mariscal himself, the owner who comes from El Puerto de Santa Maria in Cadiz, where they know a thing or two about fish. He offers good advice, and he and his team give splendid service. The wine list is short, nothing outstanding, but good quality, and prices are fair. I write this review a week after our visit, so it cannot be said that our judgement was affected by the copious quantities of complimentary liqueurs served up after our meal. We shall return.

“OK but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

...make sure you're not sat at the back by the drains! Staff were personable enough and food not bad but nothing was particularly exceptional and there are many better options in Marbella. The surroundings are pretty, in a courtyard, but it's in "restaurant alley" where every building is a restaurant so don't understand the other comment about being tucked away.

“Best Value in Marbella”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Best meal we had in Marbella on our recent visit.

Quality, freshly cooked food in an attractive courtyard location with attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The price was excellent for the quality offered

Slightly spoiled at the end by my credit card being charged in GBP instead of Euros ,as I had requested. The exchange rate used was poor. (I think the credit card machine was set up to do this - the waiter probably didn't even realise).

“Cosy restaurant away from the tourist traps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Went because of the reviews and was not disappointed. The salmon roll was delicious and so was the iberico ham. Quiet back garden in a side street. Attentive service. Nothing negative to say.
