“blueBay Banus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Have just returned from a 3 night break having stayed at the BlueBay Banus.The hotel was of a decent standard with clean rooms & the pool view was exellent with very well kept gardens.The guests were mainly elderly folk many from Germany.The food was decent and would only critisise the quality of the morning fruit juice,tea & coffee absolutely shocking.
To walk into peurto Banus is a good 25 minutes ,taxi charges 7 euros.Beware if you book the coach from Malaga Airport its 2hours 20 mins it stops off along the costa del sol several times so would consider a direct mini bus at an extra cost.

Room Tip: pool view was exellent.

I stayed here with 3 other women for a week last August. The hotel is located on a main road which I didnt like and was about 10-15 minutes walk from the beach. The room was basic although we did overlook a nice pool area. The room was relatively clean although the shower was barely a trickle. One of the most disappointing aspects of my stay was the food provided. We stayed on a half board basis and because of my experience here I don't think I will ever do that again. Severely sub-standard, cheap meat and veg. Food was cold most of the time and was shovelled onto large vats from which you take as much as you want, not my idea of fine dining. I ended up eating the same food every night which was quite miserable. Also the staff were the most unfriendly I have ever met. Rude and arrogant and very unhelpful. I would not recommend anyone staying here and I would not return.

I have just come back from a week at the BlueBay Hotel, and I was amazed at the lack of customer service, no wonder the Cosmos rep didn't show up! The first room (gound floor) we were allocated was damp and cold, the rear doors could not be secured, lock broken, after an hour of the maintenance man tried to repair the lock, he finally gave in and we were moved to another room. This room was also cold, the air-conditioning had not been switched on for several months. The main pool was drained, the grass not cut, and the walkway was slippery from a build up of winter grime. The food was appalling, cheap cuts of meat, processed cold meats and cheese, machine coffee at breakfast, none with the evening meal. One evening meal had to be returned as it was cold. No choice of milk or butter both full fat. Cereals were dry and stale, probably left over from last year. The managers excuse, they had only re-opened and bookings were down! This is NOT a 4 star or even a 3 star hotel, I have been travelling the world for 50 years and this is the worst hoilday experience.

This hotel was booked with a group of friends and the price was remarkable for all inclusive accommodation. The rooms were spacious and clean on arrival. The food in the hotel was of a decent standard and there was always something available in the restaurant. In the poolside bar, there didn't seem to be any food included in the "all inclusive" price. Although the hotel was willing and happy to take our money from us as a stag weekend (which was advised at the time of booking) they didn't seem overly keen to have us at the hotel. At least 2 of the rooms used and another room from another party were victims of what I can only assume was the cleaners light fingers. Items from spirits to money was taken, when this was reported to the management, they were completely uninterested in anything we had to say. A lot of the staff seemed to be a bit moody and one at the poolside bar seemed shocked when a Spanish speaking member of the party picked up and challenged him on he profanities he was using to describe us and other British guests. The weekend wasn't a total loss though, the animation team were very good and we made the most of what was available to us. I would also add that if you're thinking of booking this hotel and like to listen to music around the pool, think again. The hotel confiscated our ipod dock as we were playing music although there were no complaints and other guests asked if we could carry on playing the music. A group of British males, music around the pool? This can only lead to one thing...

...a ban on our "all inclusive" status until the next day. Thank god for some great guests though, we did manage to enjoy ourselves and make some great friends.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS. We stayed at this hotel for a week in October and had one of the best times. The room was great, we just had a standard twin room, with no balcony on the ground floor. It was perfect for the amount of time we spent in it (getting ready to go out and sleeping)! Sunbeds were easy to get and we didnt need to get up insanely early to reserve one. As it was out of season it wasn't too busy in the hotel during the week but at the weekend it did fill up. The food was gorgeous always something you liked, my friend is a really fussy eater and she always found something she liked. Fresh meats were cooked in front of you at dinner and tea times. The breakfast was also lovely, fresh fruit, yoghurts, hams and cheeses with a variety of bread and the full cooked breakfast too served in a buffet. The All Inclusive drinks options were good, a range of non-branded spirits, draught beer and wine; there was also cocktails on tap but these weren't very nice. But plenty to choose from, there was also not a limit on how many drinks you could get at a time so we weren't up and down constantly.
The hotel was about a 20minute walk into the centre of Puerto Banus or a 5 minute taxi ride costing around 3 to 5 euros. In the other direction we found a little bar called 'Buddies' we went there a couple of the night and had a great time, one night they had a karaoke and a band playing another night. They also did take away food for the end of the night munchies.
Overall we had a great holiday and are looking to go back in October 2013!!!!

A lovely hotel situated on the main dual carraige way,,a 20 minute walk or a 5minute taxi ride to porto banus centre;; bar prices are very reasonable 3;5 euros for a large beer 5 euros in porto banus;;; hotel is only 2 stories high but all the rooms are large and spotlessly clean and situated around perfectly manicured grounds,,, the food is of decent quality with plenty of choice;;
We are a group of 8 men on a 5 day golfing break and have booked again for 2013;;;

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing dual carraige way

We stayed here for one night in September, the room was great there was just me and my husband and we had a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 beds. The bathroom was enormous and it
had a nice balcony, but beware if you can not go up stairs as there is no lifts and we had 2 flights of stairs.
It is a very big hotel the gardens were lovely but beware the all inclusive is not as all inclusive as you may think, there is a blue bay beach bar on the beach which you have to pay for anything you have, it is seperate from the hotel, also they ran out of Anis and wanted to charge us for it saying it was not on the all inclusive. Cocktails are out of a machine and only one of the staff was friendly and smiling the others didnt smile once, the all inclusive stops at 11pm.
The food typical Spanish buffet and it was hard to find a table but the food was not that bad.
The entertainment is only on a Friday and Saturday night.
I have stayed in better hotels than this, but if on holiday for a week it would be in a good position and easy for the bus stop.

Room Tip: If you dont want stairs ask for lower floor
