Playa de Calahonda proved to be an explorers paradise. I feel like we caught this particular gem at its brightest when my friends and I visited Nerja for a day trip. The sky was the most exquisite shade of azure and the white buildings of the town were bathed in the light of the winter sun. The location of Nerja made going to the beach at a time where most other European beaches are suffering from a severe lack of snowboards a total pleasure. The Balcony of Europe provided us with a nice couple of appertizers after we walked through the rock structures enveloping the shore. It was true paradise. Highest recommendation for the beach.
