“Bad experiance”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

Our apartment was was so poor we didn't stay. As another reviewer said, needs a deep clean! Furnishings ,kitchen & bathroom were shabby & dated. The terrace had a rusty table & stained plastic chairs & the surrounding wall meant for plants etc was bare except for hundreds of cigarette ends! We were offered a cleaner when we complained, but this place needs a complete re-vamp. It is the worst apartment we have ever seen .

After reading the other reviews of the Sultan Club I feel compelled to write one of my own, as I honestly don't know what people want for their money. We stayed here for two nights in June, we had a two bedroom apartment as we are five girls in our late Twenties/early Thirties we paid £46 each for two nights??!! Seriously the value was unreal.
The apartment was huge, two double bedrooms and pull out beds in the living area. The living room had two huge sofas and two chairs. The Balcony was huge and you can access it from both bedrooms and the living room. There is even a little balcony off the kitchen which is a real sun trap. The apartments immaculately clean, I have no idea how clean people want it as I couldn't even see a speck of dirt. Towels were changed daily, the kitchen had all we needed. The swimming pool is a real oasis with palms surrounding the area, the pool itself was great, yes its not huge but the hotel isn't that big really.
The location is amazing just a few mins down the road to the beautiful beach and promenade which has lovely shops and restaurants. Just a few minutes around the corner is the supermarket where the alcohol and food is really reasonable.

Marbella itself is wonderful, its really high end with a lovely atmosphere. We did head to Puerto Banus one night which was amazing, we said its one of the best nights we have ever had. Girls get treated with respect and the bars and clubs are better than any I have been to, even in Ibiza. If you are celebrating a birthday or hen do come to Marbs its the best or if you are like us just book anyway we had nothing to celebrate other than being fabulous haha ;-)

Sultan Club Apartments are fab I wouldn't hesitate to book again!!

Hotel Sultan is a good hotel, the rooms are large but very dated and could do with a deep clean (they are cleaned daily though!). We were here for a Hen weekend, when we arrived we had 2 apartments and the apartment's slept 3 people. Although the apartment had a kitchen we were lucky that we had a second room as room 208's cooker was broken.
The pool area is great, but it doesn't get the sun until around 11 although will stay hot till the pool closes at 7. The beach is a 5 minute walk down the road and the supermarket is 5 minutes in the opposite direction. We were advised to go to mercadona (I think that was the name!) as it is cheaper than the supermarket that is closer to the hotel. The hotel has free WiFi in the reception, to have WiFi in your room this is €25 for 3 days, and you can connect 3 devices.

We went to Puerto Banus for nights out and to visit restaurants. Reception would happily book you a taxi and they would average €13.

Overall we had a great time!

My family and I stayed in this hotel for my mom's 60th birthday last week. There were 6 of us so we booked into 2 apartments which were very clean and all the useful amenities. The staff were nice and helpful and spoke relatively good English.

The main hotel bar closed at 10pm every night which we found a bit odd and the drinks were on the pricey side (€15 for 2 rum and cokes). During our stay there was no live music or similar entertainment if that's what you are looking for but this didn't bother us as we were 10 mins from the promenade where the pubs and restaurants are. The pool side bar opened at 12pm every day for 3 hours and they offer food but it's pretty basic and overpriced (€5 for a small hamburger). The swimming pool is rather small and the sun doesn't hit the pool area until 12pm; also lilos and beach balls etc are not allowed in the pool! If you try the lifeguard will be quick to reprimand you!

All in all it is an okay hotel to stay in and the location is very good, only 10 mins from the beach. However for the price of it I don't think we'd stay here again

Room Tip: This hotel is popular for Hen parties which the staff seem to room on the first floor so if you want...

Party of 7 girls stayed in 2 apartments for 4 nights . We had a fabulous stay! Rooms 103&105 both very large, unfortunately both balconies were shaded but the pool was amazing.
Rooms were cleaned daily and staff were helpful.
Hotel is central and the bars are a taxi ride away 10€ .
Had an amazing time in Marbella, loved the bars, beach is beautiful and the people are lovely!
Transfer ride is 1 hour - maybes a private taxi would be better next time. Would def recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed first trip to Marbella, and the hotel apartment was more than adequate. Great location, and a real sense of privacy and quiet, which is why we chose self catering. A brilliant sun trap of a private balcony as well.
The only suggestion I have is to be mindful of the shared transport option to and from the airport. Despite Marbella being 'a 30 min journey', the dropping off process at every resort added approx 3 hours to this! We initially waited 1 hour at the airport upon arrival too, to gather everyone together. Hardly a huge problem and we had nothing else to do, but possibly a little more honesty on the website might help. (If I missed this, apologies). Otherwise, loved it all.

How- could this be recommended as 3 star + is beyond me. My friends and I had two apartments booked and to say they were awful is to be generous- they were dirty and in very poor condition. We immediately contacted our holiday rep and we moved to the Iberostar which was great. It cost us over £550 extra to move to the Iberostar so you can gather from that that this place was dreadful in our view. We also had to pay a cancellation fee to move as I understand. I can only assume that our holiday company who I will not name to save embarrassment were shown Apartments of a much higher standard and not the dross we were given. I can only assume by some of the reviews that there must be some decent apartments in this complex. We shall take this further and have photographs to prove our grievances.
