“Best seafood in Marbella!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

We had read about the place in TripAdvisor and must say that we we not disappointed.

The place is packed at 1500 so make sure you come early around 1400. They have great English service, seemed they have improved when you read the past reviews. Menu's were multi lingual.

The place is very clean and beautiful. We returned a second time because of the seafood soup and sea salad.

All the dishes are super fresh and they also have recommendation's on the menu. They also display everything on ice to make sure you know your choice.

We found the whole fish expensive (18eur) comparing to the other dishes. Do use the half portions if you want to try multiple dishes. The portions are really big.

Must visit if you are loyal to seafood.

“Good value seafood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

We visited between Christmas and New Year so it was completely off season for this time of year. Having said that, the food was still very good. We had the gambas pil pil to start which was excellent and the grilled sea bass and dorada for mains. The fish is grilled very simply with olive oil and lemon on the side which is exactly how fish should be served! Wines were a bit average, but seafood definitely a winner. And service was very nice too. Nothing to write home about, but good seafood, good value and friendly service - winning combination!

“Lovely seafood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013 via mobile

I'm a regular visitor to Marbella and I always try to eat at La Lonja at least once. They have the freshest produce, cooked to perfection. All staff are very nice and welcoming, and make us feel at home.
As mentioned in previous reviews, La Lonja is very popular with locals, which is always a good sign.
We're already looking forward to our next visit! Thanks to all the staff, and compliments to the chefs!

“Gorgeous food, fantastic service and all the feeling of the Marbella vibe.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We were a group of 7 and we came across this restaurant just by the beach. It was packed so we weren't sure if they would attend us. A waiter came up to us and pulled out a table just for us, quite surprised as the place was full. The menu is in both Spanish and English (I think german too). The waiter was very kind explaining the plates we didn't know and suggesting plates. What can I say....this is the real "pescaito" as the Spanish call it. So fresh, so tasty the fresh prawns, octopus, a red prawn called "carabinero" (It's a must have!) and the "coquinas" ( similar to a clam...missing it already!). I was a little worried about the price but the price was just as fantastic as the food and servce.
We stayed in Marbella for 5 days and went to La Lonja 3 times. We loved it and it's a place we are very confident to recommend.

“Whenever in Marbella our first port of call”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Whenever we are in area our first port of call is always La Lonja. The
waiter always remembers us and the service is fast, efficient and charming. We usually go for the "Sea salad a delicious mix of ceviche (fish cooked in lemon), tomatos and lettuce. Also delicious is the "Pulpo a la gallega" (octopus a la plancha on a bed of potato with some pimenton on top (extremely tender and fresh), also the simple octopus a la plancha with just a touch of olive oil and lemon, the calamares rings, the puntillitas (fried baby octopus) and so many more. It is a simple surrounding with a lovery terrace on the street , full of Spaniards which is always a good sign. prices are very decent and the portions are generous. The high turnover means all ingredients are always very fresh. My wife is Argentinian and I speak Spanish fluently (10 years Argentina) so I am a bit puzzled at some of the reviews from the pundits...surely it must be due to a total lack of language communication as we are always welcomed with open arms and I can't possibly believe that they can treat you rudely...And as for charging you to go to the toilets this is ridiculous... This place is everything we love: simple, unpretentious, buzzing with life and top products cooked in a simple way and brought to you by very efficient waiters. We take our friends and family there and even our teenage boys eat the octopus a la plancha...enough said...
