“clean..comfy..basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

we found this hotel as others have described...clean..comfy...friendly staff..and nearby to all activities in puerto banus..it would have been helpful to have some local information in the room....places to see and visit.no...there were none....the breakfast is served util 11.30 am though which is a bonus......
on our late arrival ..and we were tired..we were shown to room 118.when we got there ..we found the room already occupied...although the occupants were out..that could have been embarrassing as we walked into their room..!!!!...so we went back downstairs and 15 minutes later we had our rooom sorted..on the 5th floor......another downside was that altho the room had a kitchenette...and cutlery pans etc..there was no kettle and no coffe or tea making facilities
if I was ever to go again i would ask for a room with a better view..we were in block b....

Room Tip: if you want a view of the pool..be sure to ask.beware that the sun is not around at 4 or 5 pm on y...

The Hotel Pyr Hotel is a very Clean and Friendly Hotel, the Location is Excellent, the only thing that spoilt my stay, and I will not be coming back again due to this is the amount of Prostitutes that roam the Streets and Bars, why do the Police turn a blind eye to this, and also why do the Bars let them in?, I am sure they stop alot of Tourists from coming back

My boyfriend and I stayed here with another couple when we visited Puerto Banus for just one night recently. Overall safe to say we where not impressed with this hotel at all!! We paid 140 euros - roughly about £120 and expected a lot more for our money.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right near the centre of Banus, and just up the road from The Hard Rock Cafe. We checked in fine, the receptionist wasn't particually friendly, and didn't speak English, which was really helpful when trying to explain where our room was.

We where in block A on the fourth floor. The room was VERY basic. We said its the sort of accommodation you'd expect if you where working away for the summer in Ibiza or somewhere. It had twin beds that couldn't be pushed together - very romantic for holidays. A small kitchen table, and a little kitchen with stove, fridge and crockery - not cutlery though so not sure how you'd eat your food, and an old, slightly stained sofa bed.

We had a fab day and night out, and returned back to the hotel. Only to go to bed and be woken up by what can only be referred to as 'students' shouting and singing down the corridor at 4:30am. I don't mean a few people coming in after a night out (like we had just done, where only late 20's), I mean at least 35 people plus. Which only got worse when some other guests went out and starting fighting with them - I can only think it was a Spanish college trip and they'd let all the students stay together. Reception must have been aware of the up raw but did nothing about it!!!

We went down for breakfast the next morning which was okay for 9euros per person, nice selection, very small dining room for the hotel though, unless there's another one hidden somewhere we didn't see? We also had a little look at the outdoor pool area which to be honest looked really nice - and big - real bonus of the hotel.

Overall - I wouldn't recommend couples looking for a romantic night away, or anyone after a nice hotel for a up market holiday stay here - but if there's a younger group of boys or girls who are after some where basic right in the city centre - perfect for them. We all agreed if that was where we where staying for our full weeks holiday, we'd be very dissapointed.

This hotel is a little dated, but ok for a week end away with the girls. The rooms are very spacious 2 of us shared a room for 3,small kitchen for that morning coffee but no kettle, but there is a pan if you need it.The rooms were cleaned every day and the hotel its self was very clean, but needs updating.
The pool and pool area was kept clean.
Nice pool bar plenty of choice of drinks.
Food was nice and not too expensive.
As said in other reviews great location for Marina and restuarants
Had a brilliant night in Linekars Bar highly recommend.

Perfect location if you're looking for somewhere to stay which is close to the nightlife. Mainly young people staying in this hotel. Ate lunch in here and was fine but went out for breakfast and dinner. Basic but clean, and was perfect for a few nights as a base for the bars and clubs.

Stayed here May 2012 with a group of hens - couldn't have chosen better! This hotel is wild and is full of hen, stag parties and groups of people looking to have fun. The rooms are basic, clean and have everything you could need. The location of the hotel is perfect! Staff can be very strict but I think they need to be to keep some order.
If your looking for a crash pad for a girls/boys holiday then this is the place for you... couples and families I would say steer clear!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

I stayed at the PYR Puerto Banus with a group of friends in August 2012. Herewith some quick notes:

- location: good from the standpoint of being near Puerto Banus center (10 mins walking distance from port), and near the beaches (again 10 mins from closest one, same from e.g. Ocean Club). There are other hotels even better located but this one is good enough. Downside of location: a busy motorway is nearby which implies some noise coming from there.

- facilities and rooms: basic, two swimming pools, one for children, very busy swimming pool area, very difficult to find a sunbed during peak hours. Just one restaurant with VERY limited menu. I dont think there is a gym. One or two small tennis courts. Wifi in common areas and rooms (slow and sometimes faulty but free of charge). A small fridge and kitchen in the room with some kitchen tools (which I didn't feel like using). The room has a nice terrace with some plastic chairs and a table. Air con at the room worked alright for me. Ample rooms. Very old TV. In general rooms call strongly for renovation.

- service: on the plus side, most service staff tried to be nice. Happy with the attitude of the guys from restaurant and of most of the service staff in the hotel. What I dont like is their resposiveness to fixing issues once reported. More than once and twice on the same topic I've been told "I send a guy to look at it" and never happened. I gave up trying at some point. Quite annoying in fact.

- cleanness: just ok. Most of the time the room (bathroom in particular) is dirty because they don't provide enough towels (neither, of course, sleepers, etc). General feeling of cleanliness is just ok. I think the cleaning ladys do a good job but the looks of the room (quite wear off) leave a less clean impression.

- sleep quality. Some very noisy neighbours even quite late in the afternnon. During the day, some noises coming from the swimming pool. Courtains do not cover the light completelly. Beware if your sleeping is sensitive to light. Rooms, sheets and pillows are ok. No choices though.

- bottomline: good location, basic 3 stars-like hotel.

Room Tip: Good enough for going with friends to enjoy beaches and partying. I wouldn't personally chose it...
