“Very nice property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

I highly recommend this property. A family member is a club owner who offered us their timeshare, but if we ever go back to Marbella, we'd pay to stay there. We stayed here the 2nd week of Dec. The apartment was fantastic. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, very spacious and perfect for a family with 2 young kids. We were on the ground floor, so we didn't have a view. Only heard our neighbors a couple times the entire time. The only real noise issue was the water pipes. As some other reviewers have commented, they were loud. Again, not a bid issue. One other word of caution if you like quiet, in between some of the buildings, they have some activity spaces. We like quiet so fortunately, we weren't near of those.

The resort amenities were great. The indoor heated family pool was comfortably warm. The adult only pool wasn't as warm but was comfortable. The sauna and steam were great and hot like they should be. The family jacuzzis were warm, not to hot, so they were safe for the kids. The adult jacuzzi was cold. The gym was well equipped with treadmills, bikes, weight machines. The beach area was very nice. Good sand, clear water. We were fortunate to have 3 days where it reached the low 60's. Warm enough for the kids to play in the sand in their swim suits and for us to get some sun. There were plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas but I suspect they go fast during the peak season. The main outdoor pool was closed but seemed very nice with plenty of chairs and umbrellas even if the resort was full. If you like to jog, the beach is runnable for miles during low tide. In high tide, the water goes up to rocks in the some places which can be problem if you don't want to get wet. There's a nice suburban neighbor to the east and up the hill from the resort if you want to jog outside and can't jog the beach.

The kids club was great. The staff was excellent with the kids. It's open from 10-5 during the regular season. Unfortunately for us it was off season and they were only open from 10-1 and 3-5. Was still nice, though, to have a place to leave the kids that they actually wanted to go to. They also had 2 small play grounds for the kids and tot lot. The kids loved the play grounds. They are right by the beach and pools, so parents can still get some sun and relax while the kids play.

The overall location of the resort was great for sight seeing if you don't mind driving. Traffic was never a problem. Only had a little bit in Granada. Not sure if it's as easy to drive in the summer. We went to Granada to see the Alhambra and Gibraltar, both were around a 2 hour drive and well worth it. We also went to Ronda, a nice town up in the mountains. It was a little over an hour away. The mountain road was well maintained but very curvy. If you're prone to motion sickness, take medication before you go. Otherwise, Ronda is well worth it for the gorge through the center of town, the views from the walls of the valley below, and the oldest bullring in Spain.

I can't comment on the restaurants. The only one open was Charlie's, a sports bar & restaurant with Pizza, Burgers, and Tex-Mex. We didn't eat there. We ate most of our meals in the apartment or on picnics. There is a Supersol supermarket and an Opencor (like a minimart/drug store) about a mile away. Prices were better at Supersol. The prices at the Hipercor closer to Marbella were pretty good as well, but it's about a 10 min drive.

Room Tip: If you like quiet, you may want to avoid the rooms closer to the beach. They have activity areas be...

“Very nice location for day trips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Of course the resort is lovely, just what you would expect. We didn't have a view of the ocean, but the grounds are lovely and we strolled to the shore with a glass of wine to enjoy the sunset. Service very friendly, rooms large, clean and nicely decorated. Only 4 stars due to no free wi-fi (though we were given one code to use for one device--it was enough for us, but my husband and I had to use my daughter's laptop to pick up email) and the spa was not as luxurious as I would expect at a resort like this one. On site marketplace was great--a little pricey but lots of variety. I attended a lecture about Spanish painters that was top notch. We didn't stay on site very much as we took day trips to Gibraltar, Ronda and Old Marbella. We flew into Sevilla to spend a few nights prior to our stay in Marbella and rented a car to have while there. It was about a 2 1/2 hr drive. When we left, we drove to Granada--another easy drive--and then flew home from Malaga. Could easily do several other trips within Southern Spain using Marbella as a hub.

Room Tip: Try for top floor.

“I love this place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

I've visited this resort three times now and it just gets better and better. The apartments are spacious, the beds too comfortable and the views can be amazing. I recommend booking a top floor apartment as, as the apartments aren't carpeted, the noise from above can be distracting and annoying.

I spent a lot of time soaking up the sun on the roof terrace over the adult pool - it was quiet and relaxing plus the pool/jacuzzi were just one flight of steps away. There is a good choice of pools to suit everyone, from families with small children to couples.

Room Tip: Always ask for a top floor apartment

“Great villa didn't have to leave the resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012 via mobile

This was a last minute booking, costing £60 per person for two twin rooms. We booked this hotel primarily for the spa as we expected the weather to be rainy so went for a place we could stay indoors. When we got to our room we found it to be a massive 2 bed villa of high standard and decor. Full self catering kitchen and onsite is a supermarket and a couple of bars. We didnt want to leave the resort! The rooms were spacious with ensuite for both rooms, jacuzzi bath open plan, very beautiful. Would definately recommend. Swimming pool and whirpool were nice. Great value for money

“heaven in Marbella”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

this is the most luxurious place ever. The bed in the main bedroom is amazing - can fit 4 people its so big and to say its comfortable is an understatement. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Laundry with washing machine & dryer. M aids come every day to clean. The gardeners work every day from dawn to dusk (even in the rain). The two outdoor & two indoor pools are incredible and sunbathing either by the large outdoor pool or on the beach is amazing. They cannot do enough for you.

Room Tip: they are all fantastic
