“First class resort.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Having stayed at the Marriott Marbella resort many times, I thought it may be appropriate to finally post a TA review.
The resort is located in Elviria with quick and easy access from Malaga airport. The level of security is good with a manned gate and a walled perimeter which is consistent with all Marriott resort properties. This may give the wrong impression though as we always feel very safe and have NEVER seen even a hint of a problem over the past 10 years.
One point which I tend to comment on each time we stay is how tranquil the whole resort is, even when it is full. It is the ideal chill out holiday spot.
The units are either 1,2 or 3 bedded villas with all the comforts of home. They are spacious, well maintained and very clean. Each has their own veranda / balcony and access to ample parking.
All of the staff are well schooled in the Marriott "customer comes first" mentality and it shows. They are very polite, friendly and accommodating and this applies to everyone from the reception staff through to the maids.
I could go on about the finer detail of the Marriott Marbella, but this can be accessed from their website. All I would like to say is that if you want a quality resort with superb accommodation, great staff and in a good location then this should be at the top of your list.

“Luxury break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The staff were very welcoming. There was parking in their underground car park. The apartment had 2 double bedrooms, each with an ensuite. There was a kitchen, utility area, dinind area, lounge and balcony. Was very spacious and clean. Felt wonderful and good airconditioning system. Onsite there was a playground and other outdoor activities, well tended gardens. Beautiful setting, right on the beach. There is a shop providing the basics. Also four restaurants including one on the beach. We tried out 2 of the four pools. The childrens pool was brilliant, perfect for kids of all ages. The indoor pool was being fixed, but was too hot to be inside anyway. In regards to the restaurants....the food was great at breakfast. Vast selection in the buffet and chefs on hand to cook if wanted. We did have lunch in the beach bar. Very nice food and good value. We did not have dinner in the restaurants, but did cook in the apartment or got takeaway. Both very good. All in all it was a great stay and would not hesitate to go back or recommend to others.

“Surprisingly great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We are Marriott owners in Hawaii so this was an exchange. I have to say thay the resort is wonderful, great service and I was greatly surprise to learned that everyday they come in and make the beds and take the trash out for you. The villas have all the amenities and they are clean and comfortable. Great maintenance throuout the property and you definetely need to rent a car at the Malaga airport to get here. The resort also have written directions on how to get to the near toes even to the grocery store. Of course they have a market place on site but very very expensive but convenient. The only reasonable item is a loaf of fresh bread. In all my husband and I had a great time and we'll be back with the rest of our family.

Room Tip: Request a villa with ocean front but they are assigned subject to availability unless you own there...

“Relaxing family holiday with great service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Excellent beach side location on the Malaga side of Marbella, approximately 40 minutes drive from the airport. (If you aren't planning to hire a car, on our last visit some of our guests got a taxi back to the airport at EUR €64.) The apartments are housed within immaculately kept gardens that also offer several "family games" such as mini-golf, croquet, large chess and badminton. The grounds also offer a choice of a "quiet" pool, the large main pool and a family "water fun" pool; these are in addition to an adults only indoor pool and a family indoor pool. The general facilities are to a very high standard including gym, kids clubs and organised recreational activities. The beach area is very well kept. Sun loungers are available to hire. Note that the beach isn't private so prepare to be bothered by people selling bags, sun glasses and massages! Otherwise, the beach is a great spot to relax, or take a stroll along stopping off for a drink ... or two. There is a well stocked on site shop which provides groceries, freshly baked breads and coffee. The restaurant and bar facilities are also very good. The main restaurant offers several themed nights throughout the week which are good value. Sadly on our last visit, the Flamenco night was cancelled. But, we have been to this before and it is recommended. Chill bar is a great place to relax any time of the day. There is a premium to be paid for using the onsite services - restaurants and shops - and also to some extent the neighbouring restaurants outside the resort. But, there are plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets in the area if you want to venture "off campus" to stock up on food or for a meal out. There is a supermarket and several places to eat in a walkable distance, just on the otherside of the motorway. There is also a larger supermarket a short drive towards Marbella. Back on resort; the staff at Marriott's are all very helpful and polite. I however always find check-in stressful. Officially rooms are not available until 4pm. If you arrive on an early flight with a family, you can have a lot of time to kill before being assigned your room. There are arrangements to provide a preference for the appartment that you would like. But, I can't recall any visit where I've got an appartment matching my preference. Nevertheless, all the appartments are fitted to a very high standard with well equipped kitchens, laundry rooms and living areas. We often stay in the 3 bed apartments that with their sofa-beds can comfortably accommodate a large family. With such excellent facilities, It does feel like you are staying at home.
