The first floor standard(classic) room with the slightest of sea view was unfortunately dark. Having a side view that happened to be furthest from the sea but benefitted from its closeness street activities which could be observed from the deep terrace/balcony.The room was compact but had everything you could wish for from a flat screen tv with a variety of English speaking channels which proved a bonus on a wet day,a fridge and free safe. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom had an effective overhead shower. Breakfast was plentiful(with real fresh orange) and restaurant remained open until 11am while dinner was available until 10pm. A hygiene hand gel dispenser was available at the entrance to the restaurant. We found the staff to be very efficient and friendly and food to be of a high quality with wide choice of cooked meats and fish from the "show cooking" section You could even make yourself a cup of coffee/tea in the restaurant following your dinner. There was also food available all day from the bar The staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel reception area had a busy feel to it. The hotel being not only on the beach but it was also a town centre location attracting business people and locals alike. The vast public areas were dated but added to its character than distracted from it. The weather during our stay didn't favour the outdoor areas for sun bathing but there seemed to be plenty of sun loungers available around the pool and other areas. There was an indoor pool and other leisure facilities. A security gate connected you to the promenade and there were numerous restaurants within minutes walk. You could walk for miles along the wide promenade. The old town of Marbella was only minutes away across a busy road; and well worth the effort. The hotel and its location had plenty to offer..
