Great location, very nice night club, good access to Marbela and Puerto Banus. The premises is very old (About 30 years old) and it needs some work done to keep the standard of a 5 star hotel. Service is terrible!

A sprawling property, Puente Romano actually feels quite intimate. Staff provided a very warm welcome and seamless check-in process (Gema at the Front Desk were particularly helpful), and because some of the hotel's rooms are actually laid out in groups of five or six, our junior suite often felt like a stand-alone bungalow. It was quiet and comfortable with generous product and a comfortable king-size bed. Multiple swimming pools dot the grounds, and a lovely beach with plenty of (free) deck chairs is right at property's end. Lots of great restaurants on site provided ample choice each evening (the Japanese restaurant Namazake was especially good!). Can't say enough about the staff's professionalism. Looking forward to the next stay.

Stayed for a long weekend on 13th June with 5 good friends. The hotel was superb as always - v handy for all good quality golf courses - the shuttle service was much appreciated. The restaurants quality didn't stay long enough to sample them all and the setting right on the beach idyllic. Suite nightclub was also worth a visit or 3!

I heard great things about this hotel, so eventhough it was a bit pricey for a regular room we booked it. I was disappointed when i saw my room. I dont think its been updated since the 90s. The room is very small, barely any walking space and the bathroom needs to be modernized.
The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The restaurants are very good, we ate at the Del Mar and the fish was delicious.
If your traveling with kids(which we werent), its great, they have a kids club and even at breakfast they have their own buffet.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments.

We are happy you were generally pleased with our grounds and restaurants. We are in the process of initiating a further renovation and improvement of the hotel but this takes time as it is done by segments.

The next time you wish to visit please do not hesitate to contact us and I will try to allocate you a renovated room.

What a surprise to visit the resorts beach restaurant, Del Mar, and even find car valet service in this very small side car park next to beach….two attendants no less!

I use Puente Romano's restaurants regularly and have dined at four of them during the past three weeks alone. The Sea Grill is particularly superb in every way and Del Mar is positively sublime…with fantastic staff, maitre d's and greeters who can do just about everything, perfectly, apart from simply greeting. The senior management of this hotel are to be congratulated for turning this hotel so completely around in the past couple of years and making it what clearly is the NO 1 or No 2 "Leading HOtel Of The World" resort hotel in Marbella….along with Marbella Club.

I have stayed both here and at the sister Marbella Club hotel next door…and you get what you pay for. It is not cheap but it is way less then hotels I have stayed at in South of France same time of year which come nowhere close and also have "attitude" which one does not experience from the wonderful and friendly staff throughout this resort.

There are so many plus points.

I recommend my UK and USA friends to stay here or Marbella club and my last friend to stay here with his family loved it…and he is used to the best hotels in the world given his high profile showbiz position. Book without hesitation but accept it is busy in July/August…..everywhere is this time of year in both Marbella and South of France!

I stayed for a week at Puente Romano at the beginning of June 2014 and I absolutely loved it.
My junior suite with garden view (overlooking the pool) was brilliant with a most comfortable and massive bed, a sublime bathroom and lovely terrace.
The staff at reception, waiters, chambermaids and pool attendants were all faultless to a tee and most charming.
Breakfast in the Puente Romano was a celebration of culinary delights every single day . You could eat inside or outside, the choice of food was incredible and if you fancied something special the chef would prepare it for you.
The different restaurants situated all over the "village" prepared beautiful dishes from french,
italian, japanese, lebanese and spanish cuisine.

I am full of admiration for their positive thinking, their attention to detail and kindness to all their guests.

I can't wait to return!!

Bravissimo.
Con fuerte abrazo Jacqueline Noy

Let me preface this review with we stayed here with our 2 year old for 2 nights, so we didn't get to enjoy the facilities as much as we would have liked. Upon check-in, we were informed that we were getting an upgrade. Well, we got a nice room (not sure how much different it was from our original booking of a suite) but realized it was as far away from the pool and beach as they came and there was some minor work being done in the hallway which was loud. My complaint was ignored so i left it alone. I still wonder if the guy in front of me at the front desk complaining that he had to have a room overlooking the pool for his nanny and who was insisting that the manager call another manager to make this happen, got us this "upgrade". But at a place like this, a pool view room probably was an even bigger upgrade, lol.

The hotel itself is pretty neat in that in the evenings the "courtyard" becomes an open air restaurant, night club etc. There are a lot of amenities and really no reason to leave the property if you don't want to. It was really pretty to look at- from our balcony, and people were definitely having a good time. Lots of pretty people!

This is the type of hotel that nickel and dimes you for everything though! And it's expensive for the little stuff. There's no complimentary milk for your child or croissant to take to your room, unless perhaps you're the guy who's ferrari's front fender was parked on the curb in the parking lot by the front desk.

I did get a massage at the beach (i walked down and waited because after 45 minutes the concierge never got back to me). It was heavenly. OMG. Only heard the crashing of the waves. Seriously, you have to treat yourself if you come here.

There's also a cute organic restaurant by one of the pools. They offer some interesting and tasty juices and snacks.

If you come here with a small child, bring your nanny or hire the babysitting services so you can utilize all the resort offers.

Room Tip: try to get closer to any pool which brings you closer to the beach
