“Nice course but . .”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

On arrival this course looks fantastic. However, the curse of golf in Spain (as it is elsewhere) is slow play. This is exacerbated by the insistence that buggies stick to the buggy path - which is the case here. 4 players wandering back and forward to select the right club - and getting it wrong so they have to meander back and forth again can easily add an hour to the round. It really doesn't matter how good a golf course is if the whole experience is ruined by frustration over slow play. We liked the place and the staff but can only give it an average mark I'm afraid

This is in stark contrast to La Quinta which is 15 minutes along the A7, where buggies ARE allowed on fairways. Much more enjoyable - and quicker.

All in all, a good course spoiled by buggy rules.

“Not at its best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

The quality of this course has has declined. There are lots of wet patches around the greens and the buggy paths are poorly maintained. The buggys are in a poor state of repair, My GPS was all over the place and some of the yardage appear to be inacurate. The clubhouse is its best feature. We will not be returning.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Third game of golf at this course and it was just as good as i remembered it. Nice layout, which is suitable for low, medium and high handicappers with a number of challenging holes and those a bit more forgiving. Signature hole for me is the sixth, which is a medium length par four with a green on the opposite side of river. Greens were of medium to quick pace, true and in great condition as was the rest of the course. played a couple of days after hurrican strength winds and they were doing a great deal of work to tidy up, which was not the same for some of the other courses we played. I have been visiting the Costa del sol for 11 years to play golf and would certainly put this up there with the best of them. Clubhouse is also lovely with a nice balcony overlooking part of the course. Only poor hole is the tenth but that is just my personal opinion (silly dogleg, which could catch you out if not played before). I would play this course every trip.

“Would not go back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011

Played there early October and had booked the course some four months previous. There were ten in our party and on arrival I requested an additional buggy as we had only prepaid for 5 and we required 6. I was told that they did not have any buggies at all, not even the ones we had booked, as they were busy. We therefore had to walk the first three holes and they then brought the buggies to us. There was no apology or compensation in the form of a free drink. As to the course itself we all found it to be boring apart from a few holes and it was very much up and down, with no variations or features. Greens and fairways in good condition. We go to the Costa Del Sol every year and this will not be on the list for next year.
