“Lovely hotel, clean, friendly helpful staff, lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We just had a fabulous weekend in Marbella at the Iberostar. Lovely clean, bright ample size room and we only had the very basic!... Staff were so friendly and helpful. We just had B&B, the breakfast was vast, so much choice, something to suit everyone, with eggs & omelettes cooked to order!.... It was April and quite quiet which was just perfect!... Nice easy walk along the coast to Puerto Banus, a slow stroll took only about 20 minutes to the Marina, so very well situated. Would recommend.

Rooms are light, airy and very clean. Staff excellent. Breakfast very good with great variety. Wifi and room safe charges should be amalgamated within the room charge. Found the bar tariff just a little overpriced.
Generally though a very pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again

Room Tip: If you take a walk to Puerto Banus go via the beach. The main road route is just a narrow trip hazar...

We visited in April for 1 night for my husbands birthday. This is a great hotel and we will definately be visiting again. They left a bottle of Cava in the bedroom with a happy birthday card. the staff are probably the most friendly I have ever known not only on reception but in the restaurant and the snack bar. The bedrooms weren't as luxorious as the pictures show, but they are nice enough. The communal areas are lovely. The pool is great, and there is a bar down the path nr the beach which is lovely too with another smaller pool. The path out of here was the path between Marbella and Puerta Banus which is a fab walk. Location wise the bus stops right outside and you can get to the local towns for about 1e. Their is a restaurant across the road which was great and the hotel breakfast was good. Lots of choice and the best omelette ive ever eaten. I would definately visit again, good value for money on the Golden Mile.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool.

Stayed here for 4 days. Location is excellent (10 minutes walking distance to Puerto Banus). Very, very clean alle the way. Extremely well kept garden en pool area. Excellent rooms, excellent breakfast, perfect beachclub, excellent beds etc. etc.
However, seldom did I have so many mixed feelings about a hotel.
I just summed up the positive points, but one wonders about the right sence of mind of the management of this hotel.

The negatives. Breakfast (great selection, eggs and smoothies made to order etc.) and dinner (buffet, did not try it) is served in the cellar!! Food is great but why the cellar? They have a very attractive lounge with every possibility of turning this into a wonderfull semi al-fresco setting for breakfast and dinner. Why not?
Next to this, they do not offer room-service untill noon and the rooms lack coffee- and teamaking facilities. So no possibility is offered to have a coffee or tea on your own - very nice - terrace or balcony in the morning.
They have one of the most splendid beachclubs at this Costa. Setting is really superb! However, they charge € 8,50 a lounger, indifferent of being a guest of the hotel and indifferent if you have lunch here or not. Ridiculous. And the beachclub is only open for dinner from May to September. How nice it would have been to have dinner here as well out of high season?!
Having lunch there was a treat. Check your bill by the way; they tend to let you sign a hand-written paper where you are confronted with the surprise when checking out after you stay. Another hint for the management; pls. have registered checks available instead of these handwritten unreadable notes; not that proffesional!
And as almost all hotels in this part of Spain; they do not heat their pools; felt like an ice-bucket.

All in all a very, very nice hotel with excellent value for money. It would be even more perfect if the management had the guts to do something about the negatives mentioned. If so, this hotel will most certainly be able to compete with Marbella Club and Puento Romano.

Room Tip: 3rd floor. If you'd like the morning sun in your room; ask for the rooms nr. 326-331. If you pre...

I have just returned fro my Easter Holiday staying at this hotel, and its very hard to fault it as I can be a bit fussy about hotels :-)
very nice welcome from the reception staff, also the breakfast, lunch, and dinner staff very accommodating and helpful, and quick good service
Food at all times was very nice and a good selection on offer, I really liked the location as it was nice and quiet, and yet only minutes walking fro Puerto Banus.. They also adjacent the Sea Soul Beach Club, which was an excellent place to relax in the sun and have a dip in the pools
The Bedrooms very large and very clean, serviced everyday, The hotel is a 4 star hotel, and only a few adjustments would be needed to change that to a 5 star, One thing I like at any hotel is the facility of being able to make a Tea or Coffee in your room, this was not available, and would have been perfect if it had, as the mini bar in the room was fill of choice
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether singles couples or family's

Room Tip: Pool and sea view are wonderful

On arrival there was a bit of confusion as there was 2 bookings for me, anyway once we sorted that we were brought to our room. We had paid extra for the sea view so we expected to see more.......sea. Quite a disappointment. The hotel itself is very nice, big pool, nice breakfast, far enough from Puerto Banus and the Golden Mile walk in to Marbella proper was great. We opted for one of the spa treatments which was good.

Of course travellers will check out Puerto Banus but I strongly recommend going to Marbella proper, lots of history, great architecture and fantastic restaurants.

We stayed here for 4 nights in September. The first thing I will say is that the hotel is in a good location - a nice walk away from Puerto Banus (which I can imagine is no bad thing in the peak season).

The hotel is not (in my opinion) a 4 star property (as it currently stands); the furniture is chipped and the walls are in need of a refresh, the bathroom was dated and needed some work doing. We asked to change rooms at first, as we thought maybe ours was a 'one off' - but the others we were shown were in the same condition. The state of the rooms made me more conscious of the cleanliness - with all the chips and cracks you could see the cleaning wasn't a good as it could have been.

We had the breakfast, which as others have said was excellent - plenty of choice and fresh too.

Not really sure why they need to charge extra for wifi.
