“ot bad, but not good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

After two ignored emails from the owner, we finally booked this villa for 6 of us. After seeing the website and speaking to the owner we expected a pretty nice villa only a couple of minutes from the beach, with an English taxi driver who would be happy to take us into Puerto Banus. On arrival we were really happy, there was plenty of room for us, our own pool and the owners had clearly paid attention to detail when decorating.

However the holiday shortly began to deteriorate. It turned out the pool was directly under the neighbour’s balcony (in a residential area) we were forced to end our nights out by the pool early due the noise disruption. In the day we were forced to cover us as they the main

The pool however, was not ideal. The fact this villa is in a residential area and the pool is situated directly beneath the neighbours balcony caused us many problems. We ended our nights early because of complaints of the ‘noise’ and we were forced to cover up in the day due to the neighbours congregating on their balcony. Because of this we decided to embark on the ‘2min’ walk to the beach…20mins and a motorway crossing later we reach Sala Beach – absolute nightmare. Based on how far we had realised we had to walk, we decided to call the taxi number as given to us by the owner to take us into town for the night – the response was along the lines of ‘how did you get my number, I am not a taxi service and I will not be picking you up or taking you into town as such ridiculous hours’, so we tried calling a Spanish taxi,
To be hung up on time and time again because we we’re English. Our time in the villa was also interrupted on two occasions, once for the cleaners and once for a delivery, both of which the owner turned up for.
When we finally got home, we were sent an email off the owner informing us of a bill for £150 for the ‘extra’ air-con we had used. Completely ridiculous!! To say this holiday was NOT relaxing is an understatement.

Our holiday didn't get off to the best of starts as upon arriving there was no one to meet us, even though we were told there would be in our email confirmation. After arriving in the early hours of Sunday morning, and desperate for our beds we ended up waiting and having to try and contact the owner. About half an hour later we finally got through - the owner was then quick to meet us. However upon her arrival she made numerous unsuccessful attempts to enter the villa. She then ended up calling the next door neighbour at 2am to open it for her. Upon entering the villa we were shown around and were very unhappy with the cleanliness. It was clear that the villa had not been cleaned from the previous clients, the floors were disgusting...I didn't want to take my shoes off! The bedding wasn't very clean, there was no toilet roll, a cockroach was running round the bathroom (which made the owner scream and she refused to catch it, which left it up to me). After further inspection and the owners departure we decided it wasn’t good enough, so walked to the owners nearby apartment to ask for a hover - we were refused the hover and were told the reason for the uncleanliness was that her cleaners were not allowed in to clean as it was not her clients staying previously but the other owners. Due to an exhausting journey we came to an agreement that she would get cleaners in the following day. During the week we had numerous disturbances including the cleaners (which meant sitting outside for most of our first day), an electrician to fix a plug socket hanging off the wall (which again lost up until 2pm on another day) and pest control after seeing rats in the kitchen and then the cleaners coming in on our last day...again, meaning sitting outside for yet another day!! The villa looks like the pictures and with a good clean was nice, but I think the pool made the holiday! I wouldn’t go back, the owner was a nightmare and didn’t apologise once for all the hassle we were caused, which is a shame as the area is lovely and the villa could be nice. Beware pictures on website are taken at convenient angles to avoid problems with the villa. Also there is only air conditioning in one room, although I was told it was throughout.
