“Good value for money, ideal for exploring Malaga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Stayed for 1 night before travelling on to Granada. Room was clean and comfortable and surprisingly large. Very quiet and only a few minutes walk to the main square - perfect for what we needed.

Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, pointing out the main area with restaurants and bars and also directing us to the bus station the morning after.

Standard Ibis economy hotel Euro 44 per night.
Generous size room and bathroom.
Excellent quality bedding. Other fittings modern but minimalist.
Wifi reception in the room was fine and included in the price.
Good location on the edge of the Casco Antiguo.
Airconditioning worked well BUT - if you prefer to sleep without aircon don't open the window as the hotel is locatednext to a vast concrete drain that passes as a river. The drain is strewn with rubbish and stagnant pools of water - hence mosquitoes abound.
Breakfast is varied and " all you can eat" but you may not want to do this every morning at Euro 7.50 per person.
Staff were efficient and helpful.

We stayed at this Ibis for a night in May. The hotel is in a great location and easy to find. We got the bus from the airport to Alameda Principal and could see the big red Ibis sign from the main road. Standard wise, I'd compare it to a UK Premier Inn, rooms were an OK size with a little en suite bathroom and shower. We got a great recommendation for a restaurant for dinner from the hotel staff who were very nice. Since you're so near to the old town there's no need for taxis (unless you want to go to the port which is a little further) so we walked back to the hotel after dinner and had a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was a good deal and they even had Spanish jamon and cheese on offer. We managed to fill up nicely and this set us up for the day. It's a good deal for the price and fine for one night.
Now for the not so good stuff. The area around the hotel itself does look a little rough although we didn't feel unsafe walking back to the hotel after dark. Yes, as a few other guests have noted, around some areas in central Malaga you do get the occasional whiff of stagnant river or in some cases pee depending on which way the wind is blowing but we were not bothered by this once we were inside the hotel (this may be an issue however in the summer depending on where your room is and whether you need the window open). Our only complaint in the room was that the carpet was in need of a good hoover. Not sure if the staff have the attachments they need to do the corners and under the beds but they really need to sort that out (or lose the carpets and go for tiles or wooden floors). We found some random hairs on the bed and in the bathroom and again, it wouldn't surprise me if these were still floating around due to the lack of a good Dyson.

We stayed for one night here - great location - easy walking distance to the city centre and the harbour. Underground secure car park was an attraction. Clean, functional and great value for money - would recommend.

Perfect stay close to city center. Close to important places in Malaga. Rent a motobike and go to the beach. Rent company is close to the hotel. Breakfast is standard. I will prefer this hotel next time.

Had an early flight out of Malaga Airport, so we stayed the night before here. The bed was very comfortable and the price was right (paid $55.00 Euros). The train to the airport is just a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel (with suitcases in tow). The train runs from 5:30am to very late and is only a couple of Euros (as opposed to 25 euros for a taxi according to the staff).

I am not sure that I would base myself here if I was wanting to spend more time in Malaga...but perfect for a one night stay while in transit.

It was a great hotel for getting around the sites. The staff was very friendly.
The rooms do not offer great luxury, but all was very clean and comfortable! The price is very honest. For those who doesn't want to pay much, it's a great option.Good place to put up for a short trip.
