“A wonderful stay with impeccable service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

I always read carefully about the hotel before I book it, so I knew the double rooms did not have any balconies. That's why we booked a junior suite with a large teracce with table, chairs and sunchairs.
The junior suite was absolutely lovely with a jacuzzi, bedroom and living room. A perfect room with comfortable beds and well layed out bathroom (with separate doors into the jacuzzy and also to the toilet and footwash). Teracce was accesible both from living room and bedroom.
Rooms very clean and modern.

Breakfast was wondeful. Much to choose from and it was nice to be able to sit outside.

Staff was very friendly, those in the reception spoke fluent English and they helped us with lots of things. Sadly, some of those at the breakfast didn't understand when we asked for boiled eggs and there were some misunderstandings. But never a big problem.

I spent my birthday there. And was surprised at breakfast with a lovely plate of cake, fruit and candle. Then a small gift and the manager congratulated me. Very nice, I was so touched.
Later in the evening we came back to the hotel and went for a bite in the restaurant/bar. A lady there must have known it was my birthday, cause while we were eating there she went up to our room with a lovely plate with fruit, she put on the table. How nice was that!

The location of the hotel is very good. Walking distance to beach (10 minutse) and the old town (15 minutes).

We bought tickets for the tourist buss at the hotel and just a five minute walk away was the busstop.

We were there during the summer festival, so there was free wine in the reception. We took a glass a couple of days and brought to the room to enjoy on the terracce.
The room service was nice as well, and we both ordered drinks and food. The chocolate fondant was wonderful.

The free spa was really nice as well. The pool could become crowded. But after a long hot day walking around the sights, coming back to the hotel early evening, nothing was better than to take a refreshing swim in the pool. The spa was nice as well.

A really great stay at this hotel and I would not hesitate coming back.

This Hotel would come up trumps in the UK as a perfect Travellers/Reps Hotel. As a location it was perfect, near the train station and only 15 mins from the City Centre. The Hotel was very clean and all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was the restaurant for evening meals, not very exciting and not that good. On the other hand the breakfast restaurant was very good with a wide choice of fruits, meats and for us Brits an English fayre.

Lovely also for a City break but beware the quality of food in the City restaurants is below standard and very expensive especially around the popular tourist areas.

Room Tip: Get a 5th or 6th floor room for a view over the port.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the review of our hotel.
Our cafeteria has a menu with a selection of dishes, perhaps less than what you may find in a restaurant, but at better prices and with the same quality.
We like to know that the rest of our services were to your liking.Hope to see you again for Malaga or any other of our properties in Cádiz, Seville and Huelva.

We stayed in hotel Monte Malaga for a 8 days and let me tell you it was such a pleasent stay! Location wise it was perfect we were only 5 minutes of walking away from the Malaga shopping center, train station, and bus station. The beach and restaurants were only 7-10 minutes away and the port was 10 minutes away too ! As for the reception and staff they were truely wonderful, welcoming, and very helpful. We got tickets to all our attractions from the reception in addition to arranging a 1 day trip to Tangier,Morroco! Its very family friendly and the area is very safe and quiet. Further more, not all families take a choice of having breakfast in the hotel but we did and it was so yummy and ranged pleasing all kinds of tastes. two thumbs up (Y) (Y)

The staff is very helpful and pleasant. They speak good English and answer our trivial tourist questions patiently. Room is spacious and facilities are all looking new. Different choices of pillows is a pleasant surprise to me for hotel with this room rate. Location is ok although needs 15 to 20 minutes walk to city centre. I thought our room is facing East so that the beautiful sunrise could be seen in the morning. We had breakfast in hotel because of all restaurant are closed on Dec. 25th . Breads, hams and fruits are freshy and good valur for money. A minor unpleasant thing is the traffic nearby sometimes cause a bit noisy, especial when we open the window for breathing fresh air.

Room Tip: rooms not facing main road are quieter

This hotel is very good one, location and service wise. It's only few blocks from the train station and not far from downtown. The reception staff are all ver friendly and helpful. In the reception you can get all the help you ned from two great staff: Salvador and Eva. The cleaning team are very good and the room is large and comfortable.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

stayed here four times now and unfortunately have felt quality is gradually slipping. It was expensive (£115 per night for a double with camp-bed, excluding breakfast). No tea facilities in room or complimentary water (unlike the molina lario). It is a bit of a trek to the centre and the rooms lack the beauty of some hotels -therefore should be cheaper.
I certainly paid about half as much for a double last time I stayed and don't feel it warrants the extra for a saggy camp bed. It is clean and staff are good (cleaning of room was excellent). pool area is nice but needs a revamp - wooden steps are partly broken and steam room is still much colder than required! Good for a stop over as near zambrano station and a room is usually free on arrival before midday but otherwise probably won't be staying again.

For the various comments that are on this page you can see how these are appreciated by those who stay with us. Our pricing policy is set by which is marking the hotel market, our customers can also benefit from exciting offers and promotions through our own website.
We have never had our tea rooms or complimentary water, but feel that we will study.
The distance to the city center our hotel is covered with a nice walk. They so most of our customers in other reviews of this travel community.
Regarding paid half the last time he was, he indicated that the rates at hotels are related to the occupation and the time of year you stay. Therefore, prices fluctuate depending on these variables. On our website you can always find, along with deals and promotions as I said above, the best prices in the whole network.
