The service in the hotel was very good.
Abandon all ideas of internet connection in this hotel, i had to sit beside the elevator to get reception which was not always guaranteed! staff did not seem to care that there was no reception so i was unable to work......which is what i was there for!
Interesting choice of location, walk the wrong way and your are eyeballing the barrio bajero
ok breakfast, nice staff, maybe 4 starts is a bit ambitious!

Room Tip: insist that there is a room which is not the basic because that is at the corner of the building and...

This is a great, clean hotel.

1. Location
About 15mins walk outside of the city centre. Its opposite some local flats and our room window actually overlooked someones washing line (but they have thick curtains so you don't have to look at it!). There is a supermarket opposite the main entrance which stocks all manner of food and clothes as well. The walk into town is past a couple of cafes/bars but is more of a 'locals' area. The city centre walk is down the road the hotel is on and then over the bridge so really easy! Literally 1 minutes walk to the left of the hotel is the main train station of Malaga - Maria Zambrano. The convenience of this is that you can get to and from the airport (i.e. you do not need a taxi or other transfer) in about 10 mins and also to other resorts down the line such as Torremolinos, Benalmedena and Fuengirola (we went to a different one each day, costing a few euros return) and Plaza Mayor (which is a shopping centre). There are also tonnes of shops and eateries in the shopping centre in the train station. The train station also does inter city trains e.g. to Seville. Behind the train station is another large shopping centre. There is a urban beach lined by a main road to the south of the hotel too. The bus stops are also just outside the hotel.

2. Hotel & Rooms
The hotel is very large and has many rooms. There are 2 bars in the foyer area which also has free wifi and many sofa areas. II could not get the wifi to work on my mobile but there are euro-functioning computers with internet access. The reception staff are helpful and speak English, providing a map and instructions for getting around. The hotel has a conference suite that tended to be quite busy via bridge over the supermarket.
The rooms were excellent - with a lovely clean bathroom including bidet, shower/bath tub and large sink. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom and also they provide a cute toiletries set that includes plenty of shampoo, shower gel, aftershave (!), toothbrush & toothpaste, body lotions, razor and shaving gel and comb.
The TV only has 1 english speaking channel which is Eurosport which is a shame and I would have expected at least one English news channel such as CNN or BBC News.
The beds were comfortable (we had a twin) and there is an armchair, dress table and chair, lots of storage and double mirrored wardrobes. The safe in the room is also free.
At night, we found the rooms quiet and in general the hotel was quiet whereby you do not really notice other guests. We noticed a lot of air stewards and stewardesses checking in so it seems to be frequented by them quite a lot.

3. Breakfast
The breakfast room is one the first floor and has many tables. Breakfast included coffee, many types of juice, cereals, toast (many breads), special dietary options, bacon, eggs, potato based substance, croissants, fruit, cakes and a few more items. The only problem is that they do not really cater for English tea at breakfast, not having tea pots and only having frothy milk from coffee machines so it's a bit difficult to fashion a good cup of tea.

4. Dinner
We actually stayed halfboard and not many people at all seemed to do this. We did not really like Spanish food (tapas) so decided to book dinner in the hotel too. Considering what we got, the half board price was extremely well priced. We had 5 course meals every day!

The dinner was served in the foyer restaurant. We had a choice of breads to begin. Starter was soup or a very large caesar salad or a third option. For mains we had pastas, grilled fish and vegetables, pork, chicken - really quite well made, excellently flavoured and quite gourmet actually. For dessert there were a few options including brownie and ice cream. And then to end coffee or tea (which did come in a teapot and was correctly brewed). We found that we over-ate every day and felt we would not have had such good meals if we had eaten out. The quality is so high - I am susprised the hotel did not make more of it.

The dinner was excellent. The only problem was that not many people ate there so it was a bit lonely and the hotel did not advertiser beforehand what was for dinner so if we did not like it we would not be able to make other plans in advance and also that other guests would not know the great offering at dinner.

If you are looking for a beach holiday but are not comfortable with jumping on a train for 10-20 mins then this is not the hotel for you. But we found it great how we could travel the Costa Del Sol so easily from this lovely modern hotel.

Room Tip: Try and get front facing (not at the back of the hotel which overlook flats).

Positives...close to the train station for connections to Airport & City Centre, nice facilities and reasonable staff at the hotel.

Negatives...on the fifth floor the wifi worked for about an hour on one of the five nights I was there which for business is very poor. The TV remote wasn't working when I arrived, on day 2 I reminded them and it still wasn't fixed by the end of my stay. Also a few little things like the lift would randomly go from floor 5 to -1 (parking) instead of the 0 button that I pushed.

So, good location but has it's downfalls.

Room Tip: If you want wifi...go low

Very nice, and modern. The reception desk staff were definitely most friendly and helpful of all the places we stayed. A little far from the center of town and the Picasso museum, we walked. After spending 2 hours driving around town to find the place, we were afraid to get back in the car so we walked everywhere else!

There is really so much to see in Malaga. We only spent the night, and wasted 2 hours trying to find the hotel. At least 2 nights should be planned. Don't forget to get a map before you go into the city if you are driving...better yet GPS!

Stayed here for a week's holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having seen some favourable and some not so favourable reviews, I was fairly open minded, but enjoyed the room and the location. On arrival, the hotel is directly opposite the train station with regular service to the airport (and out to the beaches at Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola). Check in was smooth and the room comfortable, cleaned daily, very friendly staff. Wifi didn't seem to be available in the room, but was available in the corridor and hotel lobby for those who wish.

A 15 minute stroll into the centre takes you to the centre for tourist attractions and restaurants, although there are plenty to choose from on the way into town. Walking back home from an evening meal affords you the luxury of a little nightcap at one of the bars en route if the walk seems too long also.

Malaga beach is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel and is attractive for its reasonable beach and fabulous chiringuitos all along the seafront: perfect day or night for some very fresh and tasty seafood.

Would happily choose this hotel on my next trip to Malaga.

I, my husband and our 9 year old daughter flew into Malaga airport for a fortnight's holiday driving around Andalucia. I didn't want to get a hire car straight after the evening flight, so we booked into this hotel for a single night.

The hotel was very conveniently located, being almost opposite the train station (NOTE! It's Maria Zambrano station which is the big station, not Malaga Central). It was really easy to get there from the airport. The train station also has a large mall with shops and cafés which were handy. There aren't too many restaurants nearby, so you may need to walk the 15 minutes or so to the town centre to get a full meal.

The double room with extra bed was smallish, but clean, well furnished and perfectly adequate for our needs. Toiletries in the bathroom were attractively packaged and the shower was good. The air conditioning in the lobby was fierce, but very welcome after the hot Malaga August.

Service was very pleasant, with a friendly English-speaking receptionist.

We were on a room only deal and the breakfast seemed expensive, so we ate at the mall.

Recommended as a good stopover hotel, but not for the whole holiday.
