“Absolutely marvelous. Period.”

This place is awesome. The tapas aren't tapas really, they're all little pieces of art. Amazing wine and very friendly staff. Just go and enjoy!

“Absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Like the other reviewers we attempted to eat in the Tapeo de Cervantes but when we arrived there was a queue outside, a great sign on a very quiet Wednesday night. Instead of waiting in the queue we went across the street to another tapas bar and took a seat outside while waiting for the queue to die down. After about 30 mins we crossed over only to find that the two table they did have empty were reserved for other guests, if I had been more organised I would have definitely booked a table (don't be like me, book a table!!).

Having been directed to the 'sit down' sister restaurant I am happy to say that I enjoyed it immensely. The decor, the service, the menu.....everything. They have a fantastic range of dishes available, a great wine list and it is a very comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal.

This restaurant will be my first choice next time in Malaga.

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Went to the sister tapas bar for lunch and enjoyed it so much the owner suggested we might enjoy more space at their restaurarant El Meson de Cervantes round the corner. Can only say what a fantastic experience it was. The food was as just as good, the service great and friendly but with the feel of a restaurant rather than a bar. Can't recommend highly enough. We were on a short notice break for a few days and this experience alone would make us consider coming back to Malaga.

“Unmissable and unmatchable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Tried for Tapeo el Cervantes but it was full but he friendly smiling lady who had greeted us at the door escorted us to their 'sister' restaurant just around the corner. It too was busy but she seated us on stools by the bar and called a waiter before disappearing. The food and service here are second to none. Bread, olives, water appeared almost before we sat down! A simple menu offered a good range of tapas. We shared 3 generous portions - do try the blood sausage with quails egg and chimichurri- followed by fig flan with Madeira (highly recommended) and Tiramasu. Lots of choice on the wine front, glass or bottle (try any D.O. Sierras de Malaga, you won't be disappointed) Could barely wait to visit again, next time ate more formally, a table at the back of the restaurant. I enjoyed a plate of risotto, John a plate of pork with apple and we couldn't resist more fig flan!! Meals were served with good humour, despite our stumbling Spanish! This chef knows his stuff. Please, please don't change a thing, we'll be back!
