“Wonderful darawings and paintings, great gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

A wonderful gallery with lots of great pencil drawings and beautiful paintings - mostly portraits. Very reasonable entrance charge. Great reading area with many books to browse about the artist, his family and his works. Give yourself an hour to spend here, there is a lot to see. I enjoyed this gallery much more than the Picasso museum.

“Very Good Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Felix Revello de Toro is a native of Malaga and is known as one of the great portrait artists of Spain. He is still alive and is in his 80's. This museum is dedicated to him and one can see portraits of beautiful women. Many of the portraits are of his wife, who has posed for him many times. The only portrait of a man is his self-portrait.

“Great Artist”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Felix Revello de Toro is one of the best portrait painters in Spain and he loves to paint women, especially beautiful women. This museum showcases his paintings. The museum building used to be the workshop of Pedro de Mena, the best sculptor of the 17th century in Spain. There is a video of this artist. He created the famous church choir stalls in the Malaga Cathedral.

“Museo Revello de Toro Malaga”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

This little museum is well worth a visit as the artist, fascinated by women, manages to capture something of the essence of feminine guile, mystery and seduction as seen through bemused male eyes. He is particularly strong in claro oscuro. Do go up to the second floor to see the large oil "Lost in Sleep", beautifully housed in its own small dark room that gives maximum effect to the light in the painting.
