“Centrally located clean hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

The hostel is well located close to both the harbour and city centre. Room was spacious and clean, and located down a pedestrian road so no traffic noise. There was some noise from the bar on the street and bin men but nothing you wouldn't expect in such a location. Vending machine supplied in the reception area

This place is located just a few meters from the impressive cathedral of Málaga, one of the city´s main attracions. You will find a wide range of good resturants and bars in the neigbourhood, all though a bit on the pricy side probaly due to the amount of tourists in the district. The location is ideal for exploring the city by foot - or if you prefer to go shopping. Also very convenient f you want to catch any of the local buses - or the train. Staff was friendly and helpful and rooms were clean and well equipped. I stayed in a double room at the back of the building. It was ok for one person, but with two it would have been crammed. Little place to leave your stuff. On the other hand, staying at the back was very quiet and pleasant. I don´t think there was an AC either, but at this time a year that is not a problem, though it might be during the summer. Anyway - the price was rather small too, so if you are on a budget - go for it.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for the size of the room, I suppose they are diferent

Stayed here for a week at the edge of the old city, just a few metres from the main shopping street and minutes from a lot of the main tourist sites such as the Alcazaba, the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum etc. Many excellent restaurants and bars on your doorstep. A short walk from the harbour and beach, the Tourist Office and the Bus Station for buses to towns west of Malaga.
The Express Bus A from the airport stops just 3 mins walk away from the hotel.
This is a room only hotel - no bar or restaurant - but the room was clean and compact with good size en-suite bathroom with firm beds. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed with plentiful of soap and shampoo. 24 hr desk, polite attentive staff. For breakfast we went mostly to Cafe Moka a few metres away (left exiting the hotel and left again) - glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, toasted croissant, butter, preserves and coffee for €3.20 each. Very popular with locals and very friendly staff.
Very good accommodation for the price. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back.

This was our second stay in Hostal Victoria, chosen from reading Lonely Planet even though it is an old version! It just has to be the best place to stay in Malaga for easy access to all that you could possibly want. Accommodation is definitely basic but it is spotlessly clean. Just step outside and the city is on your doorstep. Great value!

This is an excellent, clean, warm, no frills, budget hostal right in the centre of Malaga. I stayed here last week and thought it might be a bit chilly in December but was pleasantly surprised to find there was also electric heating. Having stayed before in a room at the front of the building, this time I was given a room at the back which is very much quieter. You can’t beat this for location, it’s right beside the main shopping drag in the centre of town and many buses, including the airport express, stop a few yards away. Staff are pleasant, not much English spoken, though my Spanish is non-existent so no complaints there. All in all, a comfortable place to stay in Malaga at a decent price and a great location – thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back - it's a bit quieter.

This hotel is in an excellent location, just near the cathedral, it was spotlessly clean, and the staff were lovely and very patient with our lack of Spanish. It's not luxurious, but it's excellent value for money, and we'll definitely stay there again.

Booked this place for one night as we had to spend the day and evening in Malaga and wanted a base in the middle of town. I wish I had been able to stay, it is small and looks basic but really clean and friendly (odd sense of humour behind the desk but at least they have one). The location is just perfect though - a short walk from the Casa de Guardia bar which seems like a locals only bar but is really nice and tolerant to tourists and very cheap.. See picture. The hotel is so close to the shops and restaurants we felt very privileged and very much part of the central town scene. We will be going back for sure.
