You have to really want to visit this museum because it's stuck out of the way behind the brewery at the end of the runway - and the airport information seem to have no knowledge of it! It's about a 20 minute walk from the new terminal, past the General Aviation (business) terminal so don't give up. (take a cab)
A wonderful collection of aviation artefacts are housed in the original airport buildings (built under Franco) that put one in mind of a hacienda. There are a couple of static aircraft outside to give an idea of scale (DC3, CV440, 727 nose) and a plethora of airport vehicles that will please the kids. However most of the interesting things for aircraft buffs are inside the lovely old building and the new halls alongside them.(uniforms, ephemera, books, films etc.). There are also some Roman archaeological remains in the ground.....And to cap it all this is all free! Donations only....I gave €15 and thought it worth every cent!
