Liked the walk, wasn't terribly expensive. Got to learn more about the history of the city.

“worth the climb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

The Alcazaba of Malaga is not as well known as the other Andalusian cities, which offer more Moorish cultural heritage and are better known in general.
The Alcazaba is beautifully situated on top of the hill. It is well worth the visit, for the wonderful view and the beautiful remaining of the Alcazaba itself.
The walk up the hill leads you over the old paved walkway, trough the remaining of the fortress. The walls are beautifull as are the little parcs, waterways and ornaments you keep on stumbling across. It's like walking through a historical puzzle: you keep on discovering new treasures around every corner. The remaining rooms of the Alcazaba and the palace are pretty well kept. I love the combination of well kept rooms and the signs of time showing also the deterioration that takes place over time.
Because this is not as large, well known and crowded as other moorish heritage in Andalusia, you might even enjoy this one more. For sure you can take wonderful pictures here, that are not filled with other visitors.
Enjoy! We did for sure..

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012 via mobile

Like most of Malaga it is cheap.Interesting moorish remains, not in the same class as the Alhambra but worth a visit.Good views over the city. A climb up, worth remembering if you are going onto the Castille as you have to go down then start a very long climb up to get there!

We both enjoyed the lovely views from the climb up and learning the Moorish history of the Alcazaba.
