“Perfect for the experience of Malaga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

Went there on a residential visit and really loved the place. The location was perfect for all the shops, beach and tourist attractions in Malaga and so we could walk to everywhere we needed to get and could also stop off at the hotel on the way! Very very clean with spacious bedrooms which were cleaned daily and the hotel staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. No problems here at all, I loved it!!

A little spartan and no in-room tea makng, but a good clean hotel with a very friendly staff. Good location not far from the centre, 5 min walk. The beach is only 6/7 minutes away in the other direction. Good value for money, be happy to stay there again.

The airport bus stops outside - well, about 8 paces away, actually. The stop for going back to the airport is across the road. Decent size room, good clean bathroom, clean bedlinen and towels. Adequate hot water, room tidied daily. I had an internal room, which had a dispiriting view into a lightwell. BUT - in hot weather you wouldn't want the window open, you'd use the aircon, and in cool weather you wouldn't want the window open to keep the room warm . . . there are rooms with french windows at the front, but they look over the main through route with all the bus stops and could be noisy - the internal room wasn't.
Very central - leave the hotel and turn right and you can walk to the port and Malagueta beach; go straight over the road and you're at the start of the main route up through the old town, pedestrianised. Turning left doesn't go anywhere particularly interesting.
Lovely friendly staff, 24-hour reception.

The Venecia is located on the same side of the street as the entrance to the cruise port. We chose it for one night before a cruise and it was an easy walk of no more than 250 yards/meters to the place where the bus picks up passengers and luggage to ride to the ship. In addition, the room was comfortable and the staff was helpful. We found it to be an excellent value for the money. We also enjoyed walking across the street and finding the main restaurant and shopping area of Malaga close by to enjoy before the cruise. If you want a larger and fancier lobby, restaurant, pool, business services, etc., then the AC Marriott is across the street. If you want to save and just pop over to the Marriott's rooftop bar for the harbor view, the Venecia will work well.

So easy to get to. The airport bus, line A stops right outside, and returns from just across the road. Everything you need to see is close by and there are bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is fine and we took advice from previous reviews and asked for an outside room. Ended up with a lovely large room on the front looking out over the main street. Much traffic but double sliding Windows so not that noisy.
Breakfast is in the cafeteria open to the public but it's fine and the service from the man in charge is very friendly and efficient.
Happy to recommend this hotel for it's location, cleanliness and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room

We stayed at Hotel Venecia for a week over Christmas 2013 and it was an overall pleasant experience. The location was great (the bus stop for busses to the airport is literally in front of the door and even the train going to the airport isn´t far away. It costs exactly the same as the bus!) and the front desk service was very nice. Our room was spacious and clean. One minor problem was that every time someone took a shower the whole bathroom floor was terribly wet; no matter how hard we tried to not make a mess, but for some reason it did not work. The hallways looked a bit old-fashioned and the elevator was not the newest either, but we did not really mind. The location and the friendly service made up for it. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

This is the second time we have been to Malaga and we stayed in this hotel both times. I struggle to find anything negative to say about it, it is clean and tidy with friendly helpful staff. You can walk everywhere you want to go from here, the main pedestrian street into the centre is straight across the road from the hotel.

We had a room only rate so did not have breakfast but ate in the bistro on the ground floor one morning and it was good value, 2 coffees and 2 baguettes for just over €5, There is a Macdonalds and BK on the other side of the road from the hotel if you are in a hurry for food (get some of the BK vouchers from the stand in reception before hand to save some cash) however I would suggest you try some of the wee bars and cafes dotted around as you will get freshly prepared food for about the same cost.

Room Tip: The airport bus stops right outside the hotel.
