“Gets better and better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Just returned from a second visit to RoomMate Larios and already planning the next one! It is a very comfortable, friendly and welcoming hotel in an absolutely perfect location for exploring everything Malaga has to offer (and Malaga gets better and better now that the harbour development has been completed).... Our room was superb with a great view onto the plaza and the city beyond. And the staff are friendly and considerate. This time I had a minor problem having lost my phone and the reception staff were fantastically helpful. If only more hotels were like this one!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but the very best are the ones on the corner overlooking both the plaza and...

Every thing is perfect in this hotel. These are what I specially like in this hotel:
- very good location, close to attaractions, shops, restaurants, seaside, pedagonal area.
- room cleanness and amnesties
- staff are very nice, polite and helpfull. The receptionists are wonderfull, they speak a good english and they are very caring, specially with kids.
(As soon as we arrived, they gave candies to my daughter that was tired and crying and tried to cheer her up. This is what you rarely see in europe. Kids have no place comparing to north american cities.)

This hotel is specially perfect place for families with yong kids.
We traveled with our 2.5 years old to couple of european cities and the only place we all enjoyed our vaccation was Hotel Larios in Malaga for many reason that I encourage you to try it yourself.

P.S. I have to thank the lady who upgraded us to the the bigger suit and made our last night in Malaga very memorable. Unfortunatly I didn't see her next morning to thank her in person.

Room Tip: Rooms that has view to street are very nice. Since the hotel is in the corner of a pedagonal area th...

Perfect location for vibrant city centre! Situated on very busy, buzzing pedestrian street although noisy the hotel room was quiet when the efficient double glazed doors are closed. The hotel is clean, modern and was as described on their website. AC not very efficient and the shower not great but ok! Large bathroom and high ceilings and the French doors and viewing balcony a real bonus.

If you are looking for an above average hotel in the center of Malaga, you should consider Room Mate Larios. This is my third time to stay with RoomMate Hotels in Spain, (Madrid, Granada). Each stay, I have been more than pleased with the quality and locations of the hotels.

Had an excellent suite on the 2nd floor over looking the main pedestrian blvd. Could not have been happier with the room, staff, service and location. Breakfast is descent and consistent with all Room Mate Hotels. Really like the fact it is served until noon! Thanks for catering to us folks who don't like to be rushed to breakfast before 10:00 on our holidays; especially after enjoying the Spainish nightlife.

Looking forward to my stay at Emma in Barcelona next month.

We chose this hotel due to it's location in and we were not disappointed. The main centre of Malaga is right on the doorstep to the hotel, situated by the plaza and many tapas bars and shops. We stayed for a short weekend break and the hotel provided more than enough for us to make the most of the weekend.

The suite was very impressive, much larger in size than we were expecting. It had a lovely separate lounge area in the room with a sofa and two comfy chairs and the windows were huge, leading out to three individual small balconies offering views of the main street and plaza.

The bed was comfy but not great. There was also a small flat screen TV (not many English channels) and a mini bar in the room. The bathroom was lovely. We requested for suite with a jacuzzi bath and the hotel obliged, which was great. (Note that it is only the suites on the second floor that have the jacuzzi baths).

At night time there was a security guard on the door which was good.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to store our luggage with them after check-out, which saved us dragging our cases about the city.

We did not try the breakfast as there are so many cafe's on the doorstep of the hotel, spoilt for choice, which is great.

Overall, the Larios offers a great base for enjoying the night life and exploring the lovely city of Malaga. Would book with the Larios hotel chain again, definitely.

Room Tip: Book a suite over a standard room, it is completely worth it for paying that little bit extra.

This is a great hotel for people watching as the balcony rooms overlook one of the main pedestrian shopping streets. It is noisy outside although the double glazing is very effective. It was not the hotel's fault but the second night we stayed a cherry picker platform machine was removing decorations from each balcony on the street. He didn't seem to start until about 10pm and it felt like the noise went on all night. We realise this is not the fault of the hotel but it did spoil our stay.
We did not have breakfast in the hotel as it very central for cafes and restaurants.
The room was great and the bed was enormous.
The staff were fine but did not offer any information about the town or give us a map. Perhaps we just needed to ask.
We would definitely stay here again but perhaps bring our ear plugs

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the street were fabulous but could be noisy.

We stayed in the Hotel Larios several years ago and on our recent return noticed a real decline now that it's a Room Mate. The glamorous atmosphere seems to have gone. The rooms seemed a bit shabby with lack of upkeep and everywhere is now full of orange easyjet-style Room Mate material; the staff seem less enthusiastic and experienced. I would say it only merits a 3* rating now. It's still got a fantastic location, but if you want a 4* experience I'd try elsewhere.

Room Tip: Most rooms are on the street so have good views but are noisy. If you are prepared to sacrifice the...
