We found the Vista Alegre quite by accident at lunchtime. We could tell it might be good because of the lines outside the door. Once inside, a couple of local residents of mature years seated at the table beside us, looked at the guidebooks we were carrying with a terror reserved for the Grand Inquisitor and asked: "Don't tell us our favourite place has got into the Michelin!" We reassured them the place had still not attracted the attention of tourists as far as we knew. Three excellent courses later, complete with a modest but creditable glass of red each, which set us back a grand total of 33 euros, we could understand why the locals, young and old, want to keep the place to themselves.
