“perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

If you would like to stay here, first of all read directions to hostel as without them you'll waste your time.Got info before arrival and had no problems to find a place. Stayed here for 2 nights - initially booked one night for 10€ (2nd night was provided for 14€) and idea was to get same price for 2nd night as well, which lovely reception from Italy (lived in UK as well) agreed to provide me. During my stay she advised amazing place for meals - pepe y pepa which is next to exit of hostel. although breakfast was complimentary, didn't use it as was considered to explore sea food as much as possible during my 10 days travel in Spain. hotel it self is very well refurbished and clean. Got a 8 bed mixed room on top floor, just below bar. I was reading reviews about noise - can't complain myself. Found out in hostel as well info about pub crawl and free walking tour - recommend. Big comfy rooms with cage for your bag (need pad lock) and free luggage room provided as well. we did pub crawl (Pancho Tours) on Monday night when places where so empty and found out fun anyway. Free wifi internet is + as well. Highly recommend this place and if ever I'll come back to Malaga on my own, will stay here again.

Great value for money. Shared rooms are very spacious and clean. Sizeable and comfortable common areas to eat and meet fellow travellers. Hostel seemed to organise plenty of events and excursions for guests. Lacked the coziness and character of a typical hostel, but a definite recommend.

Two nights spent at Oasis Hostel, Malaga, turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would have no hesitation in recomending this hostel. Great Location, in the Heart of the City, yet, affording a good nights sleep. The Hostel was very clean, superb bathrooms, good facilities and staff that were friendly and helpful!! The outside terraced areas and rooftop bar werr delightful!! I will be back again one day soon!!!!

The Oasis Malaga is centrally located in the city center of Malaga. The tour by Brian is a very informative tour with lots of history of Spain and Malaga. The rooms are clean just like every other Oasis hostel and the rooftop terrace is nice. The design of the hostel is unique compared to the others. The stairs and elevators are located outside but its not a problem considering Malaga has such great weather. I recommend Oasis!

This hostel is not great. it is not possible to sleep at any of the oasis hostels. Their policy seems to let half a dozen drunks take over and deny most of the travelers from a few hours of sleep. We had a drunk aussie woman bring in a guy that she picked up from the street into the room and into her bed in a full room of people that had to be awake most of the night while she was giving this guy a bj. <later two guys smelling of vomit stumbled into the room singing at 4am and snorted the rest of the nigh. next night someone went `psicho at 2am and proceeded to bang everything on the room for hours, no one stopped him. on top of all these the hostel has a private bar on the rooftop playing really loud music till the wee hours of the morning. <yes, the hostel is pretty, modern but totally useless if you want to use the bed to sleep. why are oasis hostels cheap, because no one really wants to go there anymore.

Room Tip: don´t spend your money on a smaller and more expensive room, they are the noisiest..if that could be...

Afterwards I have to admit that Malaga was worth to stay longer than only 1 night. The hostel is great - with a perfect location and very friendly staff!
There are a lot events like walking tours (Pancho tours - try to join the one with Brian!) and pub crawls.
The hostel has an awesome roof top bar where you can easily "lose" some hours...

Lovely clean, modern hostel. Very secure. Located very centrally with many options available for things to do. As a mother and daughter travelling together we were given the perfect room with like-minded roommates. We had a great night's sleep thanks.

Room Tip: Indicate whether you want a room with young people who want to party or travellers who need to sleep...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the most "party" hostel in Malaga. We have a saying at Oasis Backpacker's Hostel in Malaga, " If you can't meet anyone here, you can't meet anyone anywhere!" or maybe that was "Why do my socks smell like tequila?" Either way, cheap drinks, two bars, and endless activities keep travellers mingling all night long. In Malaga we want everyone to join in the fun. Whether we're spending the day basking in the warm Andalusian sun at one of Malaga's many beaches (yes even in the winter), sipping cocktails while looking out over the skyline on our rooftop bar or stumbling through the historic center after one of our famous nights out, you will be welcomed into the family...Oasis Style! ... more   less
