“A great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We are both crazy about the art galleries and this museum deserves a great following and recognition. The collection is wonderful and the building itself is astonishing! Do not miss it while in Malaga city.

“Beautiful museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

I particularly liked the pictures of Spanish life in the last century and the "realistic" paintings of scenery eg Winter in the Wood and the seascapes. Unlike the Picasso museum you would be happy to have these on the walls of your house. Attractive coffee shop downstairs.

“Baroness Thyssen Museum – Malaga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We were thrilled and delighted to view this fine collection of art in downtown Malaga, spending the better part of a day in the process. It is the best representation of paintings by artists who lived and worked in this part of Spain, particularly Andalucia, during the last few centuries, and as such it gives the viewer an excellent pictorial record of Spanish history. The paintings are carefully arranged, tastefully displayed in appropriate groupings, in large perfectly lit rooms.

This magnificent art museum is located in the former Palace of Villalon, a building that was constructed in the 16th century , and that has been renovated to meet modern construction codes and standards. The design layout of this facility is logical and impressive. One is struck by the beautiful surroundings and the ability to overlook the delicate courtyard surrounded by massive ancient stone walls.

Do not miss this exceptionally fine art collection. It is well worth your time. The cafe is modern, well designed, and there is ample comfortable seating. It is perfect for discussion and reflection; an attractive spot to enjoy good food and excellent coffee.

“Good collection in an interesting building”

This gallery is set in an interesting restored large town house which alone is worth seeing. The collection covers a wide spectrum of art.
