“Most elegant motor museum in the universe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Don’t miss it – makes Beaulieu look like a scruffy used car lot. The Malaga Museum is laid out in wonderful Belle Epoque style in a refurbished tobacco factory about a mile from the centre. Containing about 80 cars from 1900-2010, including a lovely old De Dion-Bouton, a 1920 Hispano-Suiza, a gorgeous 1938 Lancia convertible, a 1937 Mercedes 540K, a wonderful Ferrari 250GT, an Aston Martin next to a gull-wing Mercedes, two Cords, an Auburn speedster, a Fiat Topolino, a 1937 Austin Seven, and many many more. You can walk round most of the cars and lean over and peer at them (but not touch). And there’s a collection of hats. Worth the entry fee and the taxi fare from the centre. Forget the Picasso museum, go here for a proper taste of modern art. The theming and the displays linking the cars to high society and culture make this a delightful experience even if you’re not a car buff.

“Superb place for a rainy morning or a too hot day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

A truly impressive collection of vintage cars up to the sixties, all in pristine condition or beautifully restored, presented with some touches of humour in a light and airy building. The tour looking at each car took us around two hours and, although we a totally unmechanical, the visit was at all times a real pleasure. The large building housing the collection (Tabacalera) was the cigarette factory before renovation. Buses 15 and 16 stop just outside, or it's a six or seven euro ride in a taxi.

“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

A truly great collection. This collection originally came from a rich collector in Portugal is now housed in the old tobacco factory close to the beach and harbour of Malaga. The building which has been beautifully restored is a worthy home for the collection. The cars range from the earliest models, virtually horse carriages with propulsion, right up to recent classics like Porche and Jaguar, Aston Martin, Rolls, etc. They are all in top condition with some spectacular renovations. We have now visited three times and each visit is as enjoyable as the first eyepopping time. Cannot recommend too highly, you might also be lucky enough to see some being driven around adding some awesome sounds to the visual delights you will enjoy.

“A-mazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

It's a cheap cab ride from the city centre. Located in what looks like the grounds of a royal palace - only to find out it's actually a disused tobacco factory! The entrance is impressive, you are greeted by a series of imaginative sculptures made from car parts. Friendly staff, spoke good English and only a few Euros to get in.

It bills itself as a vintage car collection, but the items on view are staggering. Whether you are interested in cars or not you cannot help being consumed by the quality of what is on view. Most of the exhibits are from the first half of the 20th century. The cars of the rich and famous, kings and queens, presidents, dictators, film and pop stars, even a car with bullet holes in the seats from WW1. Some of the models are real collector's items and must be very valuable. There's also a hat collection if you want a break from the cars.

Easy to walk round, no annoying attendants spying on you, and it's not vast. No sore feet after viewing everything. The girl at reception even telephoned and arranged a taxi to take us back to the city centre.

Memorable and terrific value.

“very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

good value ,low key, no queues, my teenage boys and husband enjoyed it. lots of interesting cars (replicas) of all the most famours cars within the the last 100 years. easy to get around - only thing it is hard to find - probably getting the bus as mentioned in trip advisor or walking are easier than driving and trying to negotiate Malaga's complex road system
