Recently, I discovered Restaurant Manducare in central Malaga.
We started the meal with aperitifs of Ensalada Rusa with Gambas and Alorenas served with a perfect Fino. The next course was an exquisite warm Salad with lightly fried Calamares and Gambas. This was followed by delicious Croquettes of Gambas Pil Pil with homemade Aioli. The fish course comprised of a perfectly cooked fillet of Sea Bass on a bed of delicately prepared vegetables with a Pesto salsa. We followed with a fillet of tender Beef served on a bed of rich Bomba risotto exquisitely flavoured with Foie Gras and Fungi. The elegant structure of the meal was maintained by a fine postre of Toffee Mousse with Strawberries. The excellent Cafe was accompanied by an unexpected treat of Chocolate with Salt on crisp bread with Olive oil.
The whole meal was beautifully presented with each plate resembled a work of art. I particularly enjoyed the constant referencing to Andalucian tradition whilst maintaining fresh creativity. The use of top quality local ingredients combined for maximum flavour is a winning combination.
I thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a perfect meal on a special occasion. Equally, the tapas at the bar are served with same special attention to detail and wonderful ingredients. English speaking customers are welcomed by the attentive staff that have a good command of the language.
