“Fun, but a little hot & a little too small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

It's located under the main road (before the entrance to an underground car park). We stumbled across it by accident and decided to go in and explore. This cost something like €3 each although there is a discount for students. It's a fairly small place (with no AC which means it got VERY hot and stuffy) it doesn't take long to go around but there's lots to see and lots of instruments you can play. We went after a couple of cocktails so it was a bit of tipsy fun and would probably be really well enjoyed by children and young families.

“a "touching" museum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2012

My kids loved it. they could pick up, play, bang, beat and blow any and all of the instruments around. Great fun and located conveniently at the underground car park.

“A Fun Place to Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2012

The Interactive Museum of Music is a little known museum in Malaga because it is quite hidden under the Plaza de la Marina. The museum holds a collection of about 400 musical instruments, from many different countries, and from many different ages. This collection is one of the largest in Europe.

There are many displays that have a red triangle on them and this indicates that the display is interactive. Many show musical instruments that can be touched and played. Others have videos that can be watched and feature people playing the wide variety of musical instruments. One interesting display features flamenco and the music of Andalusia. An interesting explanation is that of classical music, how it started in Europe. The German composers such as Beethoven were the first to play it. Later other European countries had their composers create music that was representative of their own countries, such as Falla composed music for the Spanish.

“Make sure, what you want”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

It is nice to see how music works and what you can use for creating "noise". But its interactiveness is only of sorts and the location is dire.

“Great fun for all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

The staff of this museum is incredible. You can play all sorts of hands-on pieces from around the world. The design is also incredible; the museum is in a parking garage, but inside you would never know. it is well done and very nicely thought out; large and wonderful. Run by happy people who care.
