“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

We booked our 5night break through teletext holidays very cheap as well, having read the reviews was unsure what to expect on arrival, we arrived late and the room we had paid for was in the I renovated formetara block as I had contacted the hotel before arrival and was informed we could upgrade for 20 euros, however we arrived and were put in the Ibiza block which was absolutely lovely very luxurious and at no extra cost cost. The hotel is lovely the food is good and freshly crooked in front of you and the all inclusive drinks good.
All in all a very lovely relaxed break with brilliant service and accommodation.
Thank you to all the staff.

If you are looking for a nice relaxing holiday- this is the right place to be.
We stayed seven nights all inclusive. Our room in Formentera block was a little bit old dated but very clean with a beautiful sea view. End of the day we didn't spend much time in the room so we weren't that bothered.
The food was great prepared by Joaquin and his staff (Angel is always smiling).
There was always a big selection of food:fresh delicious fish, big choice of meat, grilled veg, salads and desserts.
There are good activities daily for both children and adults.
Thank you Jeronima for making our holiday so much fun. We always laugh together. Muy bien!!!
The bar staff were lovely. Thank you Paqui for teaching me Spanish. Paqui es major.
Julian and other lady-very nice as well.
After all…the complex is beautiful, right on the sea front, the pool is clean and the garden well manicured. We would like to wish you all the best.
Thank you.

We were a group of friends traveling around la Costa del Sol, none of us knew the hotel before hand but we would certainly go back to this great sunny place where the staff is friendly and always ready to help.
The complex is undergoing a refurbishment the rooms we stayed in were newly done, very comfortable but the un-redecorated rooms are quite antiquated.
The staff works really hard to please you, we took the option "all-inclusive" the food choice is good and of a high standard.
The hotel is right on the sea front, the pool is clean and the garden well manicured.
The entertainment is great, the paella is delicious, cooked right in front of you.
We will go back there again (hopefully) soon.

Hotel a little bit out of the way but go through the gates and be surprised - really surprised!
We were greeted at Reception at approx 3.00 am and treated so courteously by the gentleman at the desk then escorted to our room by a very friendly and helpful Security Man. Our room in the Ibiza block was newly refurbished - simply and beautifully. Wonderful shower, fluffy white towels, widescreen TV and a balcony overlooking the pool.
Thank you to all the staff we had contact with on a daily basis to name but a few - Manuel & Rafael in Reception, Rita & Lady Restaurant Waitresses and Poolside Staff.
The new Head Chef Joaquin provides food to a 5 star standard and cannot be faulted in any way, his Staff warm to him and are as enthusiastic as he is.
Thank you Joaquin for making our holiday a culinary adventure.
The hotel is still being developed by the Management and improvements are seen on a daily basis - so be a little patient people - it will come.

Room Tip: Refurbished blocks are Menorca & Ibiza - more to follow shortly - ask your Travel. Agent.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay here (2nd - 9th June) and couldn't really fault it.

Definitely a 4* hotel with great modern rooms (big walk in showers) & choice of pool areas. All inclusive was great, with something for everyone, lots of fruit, salad & meats. (I'm a bit of a fussy eater & I was always full!).

There are great activities daily for both children & adults so a great hotel for families. Entertainment in the evenings is very good too, something different every night (bingo, kareoke, magician, flamenco dancers, quiz).

The only bad word I would say about the hotel is the location of it. It is a bit out of the way, with even a local small shop being a 10/15 minute walk. The buses to Estepona and Marbella are about 20 minutes each in opposite directions and are very cheap.

Entertainment staff were lovely & made you feel welcome and we got quite friendly with them during the week. The bar/waiting staff's English isn't very good but they are all very hard working and polite.

Would definitely stay here again for a peaceful & very enjoyable holiday.

The Playa Estepona is a great hotel for a beautiful and relaxing break. We have just returned from a 7 night, All Inclusive break in this hotel and would definitely recommend it. Recently refurbished, the hotel continues to make daily changes to the property which have improved it's four star rating.

The property is comprised of 3 buildings set in beautiful gardens and two very clean and well appointed pool areas with a pool bar dispensing free alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks all day. A beach bar is situated at the edge of the gardens with a stunning sea view, which takes in the coast of North Africa. The staff are very helpful & friendly but don't speak much English but this is not a problem.

The only disappointing aspect of this property is the road leading to it, as there are some empty buildings covered in graffiti and quite overgrown areas. However, once you arrive at the security operated entrance you enter a lovely relaxing oasis!
A short walk away are the bus-stops where you can catch a bus to Estepona (20 minutes & €2.80 return & Gibralter(1.5 hours) and the other way to Puerto Banus, Marbella etc.

When booking, check with travel agent about the pre-paid transfer. Malaga airport is a 40 minute drive but we discovered that the transfer bus actually took 2.5 hours, eventually depositing us at our hotel at 3am, as the bus literally goes all round the houses & up into the mountains. We cancelled our transfer & booked our own taxi to the airport for our return journey!

Room Tip: If unhappy with room, reception very helpful about changing. Best rooms are in Ibiza & Menorca b...

My and my partner visited this hotel in mid May 2014.
We went through icelolly.com and it cost £340 each all together with flights, transfer, accommodation and suitcases! I was worrying about the fact it was still being built up, but I shouldn't have needed to me. We arrived late at night, but were welcomed by a lovely friendly receptionist, who although his English wasn't great, it didn't matter because he was very helpful.
We were shown where our block was and luckily for us it was in the new build with AMAZING rooms which were sparkling clean and new. And best of all it was a sea and pool view! (We stayed in the Majorca block).
The food was decent most nights. I am a fussy eater so I struggled with making a proper meal, but didn't mind potatoes, pasta and sauce!
The pool area was lovely and clean, but freezing, so it was funny when all people staying were bracing themselves to get in.
The beer on tap was San Miguel and there were plenty soft drinks. The beach lunch bar opened the day we left, but looked good.
Overall, it's good if you want a relaxing holiday where you want to stay there. There is nothing to really do, but nice to walk about. There is a bus at the end of the road which is something like €1.30 to Marbella (number 37) which isn't to bad.
If you get the new build, you will love you it!
