“Ideal for couples.... and people who talk quietly ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We visited the Senator Banus for a 4 day hen party. We explained when booking this break that it was a hen party and was told this was the ideal hotel but i understand this was the travel comoany not the hotel. There was a stag party in the hotel that were older men and not exactly wild but they had already been told of their noise. On the first day, while we were all at the pool and relaxing and talking to each other, we were asked if we could talk quietly... We thought this was a little extreme considering not many people go on holiday to whisper. The room were good and the general appearance of the hotel was fine. Some reviews of the hotel say that it is close to Puerto Banus Marina but it's about 20mins by taxi .. about €20. The food in the hotel is over priced but more importantly. ... its very poor! The menu is basic and the food isn't nice at all but around the hotel is great places to eat. This hotel is perfect for a quiet couple break and the staff are very helpful.

Stayed here at the end of May, the staff were lovely and the hotel was very clean. We were bed and breakfast, the food at breakfast was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed it, I don't normally get up for breakfast on holiday but made it everyday on this occasion :) We upgraded to a suite and am so glad we did. Had a sea view. Room was clean and comfortable. Did not hear any noise form the road.

Two bad points, the hen parties were a little off-putting around the pool, seemed to take over and made a lot of noise. Also the wifi kept cutting out the whole time we were there, we had barely any access the whole holiday, it can't have been a problem in the area as all of the bars and restaurants nearby had wifi which worked perfectly.

Visited the bars close to the hotel and had fantastic meals in all of them (recommend the Robin Hood, Chilli and Tanino's) also walked down to the beach and ate at Salduna Beach, lovely little place. If we did return to Estepona we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

An adult only Hotel, with fantastic service. The staff were wonderful. Superb room, we had a suite on the 4 th floor with a large balcony overlooking the med. Well worth upgrading the room, with a separate lounge area. Even the furniture on the balcony was top class. Two pools warm enough to swim even in early May breakfast was great, and evening buffet meal good quality and variety although a little expensive. Luckily there are 4 different restaurants next door, all worth visiting. Our favourite was the l orient restaurant Lebanese. Hotel a little remote from the main towns but only a short taxi away. Only downside was at weekends there were several Hen and Stag parties, which meant the noise was louder than kids can make!! Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Just get a suite on the 4 th or 5 th floors.

The hotel itself was really opulent, clean and well adorned. It had all the facilities you would expect from a 5 star establishment and the staf were really excellent. Attentive, well trained and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It was situated in a very well off area next to an estate of millionaires villas. In the immediate vicinity were trendy, lively and expensive cocktail bars. It was also within a ten minute drive of Estapona, Puerto Banus and (our favourite) Marbella. So plenty to do. The weather was fabulous so we didn't venture into the spa, so cannot comment on that facility although it looked very nice. Professional and clean. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach but it was disappointing. Rocky, rough seas and not much sand. However the hotel had two great pools with plenty of sun beds which more than made up for it. On the down side the food could have been better and the Wifi was slow and kept dropping out, in fact I had no service on both my devices for the last three days no matter how hard I tried.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a bigger balcony overlooking the pool.

Just nicely returned from a stay at the Senator Banus for my wife and her friends birthdays. (Both same date). Was extremely pleased at the standard of the hotel. Was a little aprehensive at what we would find at the price we paid even though it was advertised as 5 star. Could not fault the service. Althought we used this mainly as a base to explore the surrounding area we were impressed. We hired a car from the airport and after a couple of minor errors we found the hotel even in the dark, although you do have to go passed it and double back on yourself on the A7 to get to it. Even after the week there I still could not get the junction right when coming from the Malaga direction. The girls were well pleased when we returned to our rooms on their birthdays to find a bottle of plonk on ce to celebrate with, along with compliments from the management. Icing on the cake after a great day out. One minor irritation during our stay were the ignorant Hen and stag party's that were at the hotel. The hen party in particular was out of control at one point. (may be worth checking if there are any planned during a proposed stay) This didn't put us off staying again but had we been at the hotel all week we would have been raising a complaint. Great Hotel needs to re-think hen and stag party admissions. Noted comment about wi-fi from other guests. Not a problem for us we have a life.

Room Tip: Check if there are any hen or stag party's staying during your stay. Turn all mobile devices off...

We stayed here for five nights .we eventually found hotel on busy main road, the porter "Jamal" was always there being very helpful sorting our bags out sorting us a room upgrade to a Junior Suite which was really good Big balcony loungers view to sea really nice room very spacious etc "i would recommend getting upgraded to this if yo can"!!.
The two pools were very clean plenty of sun loungers & i must say we did not notice the traffic noise as we were at the rear of hotel so it was NOT a problem at all.
The breakfast was good with a good choice of fruits, breads, cheese, ham etc Not forgetting the eggs bacon tomatoes sausages beans etc etc . The only gripe with the breakfast, there was NO BROWN SAUCE, its a must with a English breakfast. Hopefully they will read this & get some ordered. Also the WIFI constantly losing signal & having to re-enter password this was a real pain. But that was the only thing that we found fault with.
The service was always very good as i said Jamal was excellent the hotel should promote this man to a higher level & pay him more Euros he really cares about the customers, he gave us lots of help with places to go & eat etc. The other waiter was "German" he too was very polite always there to help and gave good service at the bar.
There are plenty of good restaurants near by & places to drink etc, the beach is approx 5-10 min walk however we did not rate the beach this was a bit of a let down very run down, not worth going too. however there are better beaches a bit further down. But we did not bother.
However i think a rental car would be a good idea as the Hotel is about 35-40 mins from Malaga airport. Gibraltar is a further 40 mins from the hotel & worth a visit.
We would be more than happy to stay here in the future.

Thanks to all the staff at the Senator Banus
Ps thanks for the birthday Bottle of Champagne..

Room Tip: get a Junior suite if possible balcony much bigger & no roof above to block the Sun!!
