“Spacious apt needing updating, noisy barking dogs & loud Spanish ladies chatting in the very early hours!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The apt we stayed in is 22 years old, others are 12 years old...they are certainly in need of internal updating now. No air con so would have been unbearable in the hot summer months. Construction of a new hotel over the road meant building noise from 8am onwards, resident dogs reached a crescendo every morning between 8-9am and then again during the evening. A lot of noisy Spanish residents with no regard to sleeping people after midnight! A car would be needed to get around, buses looked very few & far between and it's nice to just get in your car and visit pretty places like Ronda & Mijas, Puerto Banus, Marbella etc. The beach on the other side of the motorway is horrible so hopefully the new hotel will import some nice sand and add features. Beaches around to visit are San Pedro, La Luna and a small beach in Estepona. Bed prices vary between 6 & 3 euros. The closer you get to Marbella the more expensive the beds! Eating out isn't cheap so it's nice to have a 'cheap' day and enjoy all the local sea food/meat and salads.

Room Tip: Be aware you will need a car. Visit the further supermarket (sorry forgotten the name, it's the...

A nice spacious apartment block with a nice pool in a quiet area. What was most refreshing for that part of the Costa del Sol was NO CONSTRUCTION to be heard or seen. Our Apartment also included a secure garage parking space. A hire car is thoroughly recommended for that area, as it is quite remote from main towns. However its location is excellent for travel by car with many easily navigable roads for Estepona (10mins), Fuengirola (25mins), Gibraltar (45mins), Marbella (5mins), Seville (2.5hrs) etc.

There was plenty of nearby restaurants and bars along the main road (take a large wallet as eating in that area was more costly than the more popular areas of the Costa del Sol). Also a Spar shop right outside was very convenient. Recommended visits are; Out of Africa restaurant and the Chill bar.

Main concerns were that due to the main road nearby (the N-340) and its remote location from the nearest towns there was little in the way of pleasant evening strolls, unlike the marine areas of Porta Banus or Benalmadena.
The beach was a 5min walk (about 400yrds away) but involved crossing the main road by footbridge. It was a small and more secluded beach than in many tourist areas. It also had very few amenities/eateries along its front.
