“Our second visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

This was our second visit so we new location etc and were Aware we needed a car to get around
When we Arrived we were booked in straight away it as we had arrived early our room was not ready but the receptionist offered a place to leave our luggage and suggested we might like to use the pool area or bar whilst we waited
Our room was lovely as before with views to the pool golf course and the sea
We were pleased to see the bar and lounge area had been refurbished and was lovely
The hotel is really doing its best to update and all in all we enjoyed our visit and plan to return again in September
Well done to all at the hotel

Their web pricing is very competitive and the refurbished rooms mean this is great value.Try to avoid the weekends as they are promoting an All Inclusive package to Spanish families with a bun fight at breakfast and kids queuing up at nearly midnight for their last free drink in a plastic cup!
From Monday onwards it was fine with a reasonable buffet breakfast-great hot food, cold cuts but coffee/juices from machines, not good-stick to hot water and make your own tea. What did stick out was the friendly and efficient service from the bar staff for that late drink after we returned from one of the good eateries nearby (see my restaurant reviews).Reception was also efficient and friendly.
Pool was welcoming and clean with big fluffy towels from reception and there are plenty of loungers in the week on the surrounding grass areas-but I do wish they would weed the rose beds, very scruffy indeed!
If the hotel wants to welcome paying guests at weekends then they ought to have a separate serving area at the bar for guests who are paying for their cocktails rather than for us having to queue for ages with the AI mob who are restricted to one drink each time in a plastic glass.
As our group was spending up to €25 each round we were a bit peeved,to say the least.
Having said all that-the location, friendliness, pool and pricing make it a good choice for a short break.

Room Tip: Sea view-4th or 5th floor

2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I was persuaded to go here by the in-laws who used to visit this hotel regularly, about 30 years ago. The price was extremely attractive - almost half of that of its competitors nearer the coast. The hotel is inland, on top of a hill, so a car is essential. It is next to a residential development with no restaurants/bars. The views are magnificent.
You could tell the hotel used to be quite grand, but now it is tired, worn and in need of huge refurbishment. The flooring on our balcony had large rips in it and the furnishings in the communal area were very dated. The pools (indoor and outdoor) were well-kept, but the gardens were not (they hadn't even mowed the lawn recently). There was no evening entertainment (apparently only on Fridays and Saturdays) and an empty mini-club for the kids. They did have a small playground in the gardens. There was a gym near reception (well 3 exercise machines in a small room sandwiched between the vending machines), but it was not labelled as such so we found it by accident.
We expected to find a fridge in our room (as per hotel description), but there wasn't one. From the 3 rooms we had booked, only one of them had a working fridge.
Customer service was poor to average. We asked the chambermaid 3 times for a cot (which had been pre-booked and reception assured us on check-in that it was in the room) and it didn't appear, so in the end we had to call down to reception at 8pm as the baby was about to fall asleep and we still didn't have it.
The breakfast was OK, but there were a few birds in the dining room and we even saw them fly down to the buffet and start picking at some of the food which was GROSS! The chef had her back turned so was oblivious.
Although the price is attractive (it has to be - there is not much else going for it), I wouldn't go back. I am grateful we were only there for one night and we were in a group so we made our own entertainment!

We had a spacious room with a huge balcony and truly fabulous views. However every thing is a bit run down and in need of a serious face lift.

Staff are friendly and food is alright to good. The gardens and pools (including a large indoor pool) are very well kept and a great place to be.

The location is a bit off the beaten track for some peoples taste, but it is a good way to get away from the crowded coast. You will need a car to get to the beaches as it is about half a mile in land from the coast road.

We had a very cheap deal through bucso un chollo website which made it good value for money.

Room Tip: End rooms have large balconies (we had 309)

The rooms are really spacious, clean, with a large balcony overlooking the garden with a swimming pool, green area around the hotel, and a view all the way to the coast. The hotel is on a hill so it provides such a beautiful view. The beds are large and comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel is showing signs of aging. Bathroom needs renovation. The water pressure is low. Dining room is large and bright, but also needs renovation. Support staff in the dining room is a bit slow and sloppy so spilled coffee or juice stand on the floor quite a while. Buffet breakfast has a good variety of food but the food does not always taste good. The hotel staff was great, english speaking and very kindly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised with a bottle of sparkling wine which was sent to the room for my birthday !
