“You get what you pay for!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2009

We booked this hotel based on the reviews and overall I have to say that it is definitely value for money.

We hired a car (do recommend for this hotel) and this made life a lot easier.

To find the hotel pull off the main road immediately AFTER the Benahavis turn off. Stay on the slip road running parallel with the dual carriegeway. You will reach a stop sign. Turn right and immediately right again and you will see the secure parking entrance. (You will feel like you have driven passed it so don't worry! )

The room and amenities were fine. Pool was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The food reviews seem to vary and this review is no different.

The breakfast was very basic and in 7 mornings we only got hot food once and that wasn't very good (Sunday) There was one type of cereal and if you arrive at breakfast after 9 there wasn't much left. We saw people walk in and walk out again! We bought our own cereal and took it with us.

Dinner was ok but there was never a veggie option. Every night there was a fish or meat option. The veggies were good and the salad choice comprehensive. The dessert was good as well. If you like the odd chinese/pizza on holiday then we definitely recommend the GUANGDONG chinese and GRAHAM'S PIZZA in the shops next door.

Beach is 15 - 20 mins walk.

We were on the corridor next to the road and we were never disturbed by the road.

This hotel is great. Nice pool and lovely staff. It is also close to many nice bars and the beach. The nearby attractions are also nice.

hi myself hubby and 2 yr old son went to this hotel in oct, the reviews helped me make my mind up to book. it was tricky to find off the motorway, and i think you do need a car. i cannot rave enough about the food at this place it was fantastic every thing you could want. full English, croissants, cereal fruit, toast. tea time chips meats, veggies, salad ice cream, we never spent a penny on food . the room had a safe and air conditioning included in the price , although basic it was clean with a cleaner, its near marbella if you have a car that is. we checked the boats out and beaches the zoo. we even went bowling.estapona was lovely lots of parks, we drove to gibralter as well. the pool was clean within lovely gardens, the staff were great as well helping keeping our son entertained, great value for money. very cheap holiday we flew with ryan air excelent. would recommend.

This is a very good hotel near Estepona. Some past reviewers had trouble finding it, but if you are driving from Malaga you have to exit at 168.5km on A-7, which is 1/4mile past the exit for Benahavis. The hotel will be on your right. We booked it at alpharooms.com which had the best rates.
We were most impressed with the food at this establishment, considering this is a 3 star hotel. Breakfast included fried eggs and bacon, churros, rolls, yogurt as well as cereal, some dried fruit, hot tea/coffee and juice. The dinner was considerably better with 3 choices of hot dishes (meat, fish and vegetarian), several side dishes, soup, a salad bar, fruits and ice cream. Everything was quite edible and my whole family was satisfied at the table. The only downside was the fact the drinks, even water, are not complementary and have to be purchased.
The rooms are basic, but very clean. If you are a light sleeper be sure to get a room away from the road. The location itself is not very close to the beach, which also does not have a nice promenade like neighboring towns (Marbella for example). The plus side is that we were next to the road which allowed easy travel up and down the coast. Other positives include a small strip mall with several restaurants and a supermarket right next to the hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. All speak good English. We even got a free fridge during our week long stay.
Overall our stay was very pleasant and exceeded our expectations for this hotel.

We stayed at Diana Park for 6 nights and had a good time .We had booked a car at the airport , and , to be honest , we needed it .The hotel is set just off the main A7 coast road on the Costa del Sol . The address says Estepona , but it is actually about 10-12 km from Estepona itself . The hotel was clean , and we found the staff very friendly and helpful . The food was very nice , but our only problem was , being vegetarians , there wasn't a massive choice for us . Over all our stay was very good and we would go back there again , no problem

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2008

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of September. Booked thru travel republic & it cost £120 total for 2 people half board. Hence, one has to bear in mind, that this is not going to be a luxury hotel! Official rating is 3 star & I feel that is fair. I had emailed the hotel in advance & asked for a room with a decent view on the 2nd floor, and that’s exactly what I got. Some of the other rooms had very dull views of surrounding buildings, or were very dark, but we overlooked the pool, which was just fine.
The rooms are reasonably small & quite basic. However, they are clean & functional. I found the bed to be uncomfortable. Bathroom clean with a very 70s style hairdryer (I took my own). There is a safe & a TV in the room. I took a kettle - there are no in room coffee making facilities, & I definitely need a caffeine fix first thing!
Pool was freezing, but it didn’t stop me swimming. I’m not sure there would be much space for everyone around the pool in the height of summer, if the hotel were full. A shallow area of the pool for kids and also a playground area, so reasonably child friendly. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. I was prepared for this, given the price I paid. Only ate evening meal on 2 occasions, and managed to make 4 courses from what was on offer. Breakfast was a combination of cereals / pastries & hot food.
The main reason I chose this hotel, is because I like the area. Its easily accessible for Puerto Banus & Estepona, both towns I really like. Great Italian restaurant in Estepona (Portobello) at the harbour. Serves excellent food & I have visited there several times. Would highly recommend.
I will say, that you need a car if staying at this hotel. Its on the main road that runs from Malaga airport right thru all the main resorts & I think most people would get bored, if they had to stay at the hotel & its surroundings for more than a few days. The car park is secure & entry is by intercom.
All in all, a good cheap break in the sun. Search around on the internet. Find a good deal & this hotel will be worth the money. The temperature hit 29 degrees while we were there. The perfect respite from the good old British weather!

We stayed for two nights in September 2008 at Diana Park.

The rooms are fine, except if you are located next to the A7 or the AP-7 as we were! We were the very end room, nearest to the road and could hear the traffic above the air conditioning in our room. We did not bother asking to be moved to another room as we were only staying for the two nights. The rooms are adequate, perhaps on the small side. There is not much to do in the area - a few bars etc but you really need a car which can be parked safely in the Hotel Car Park. We were meeting up with friends in Esptepona which is not far away but a much more expensive place to stay.

Staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice pool area. Many of the rooms open out onto or overlook the pool area - if you intend to try this Hotel I would reccomend you ask for one of these although they may be reserved for guests staying longer - understandable if so. The restaurant is ok if a little basic, not what I would expect of a three star establishment although clean and helpful staff.

The only other disappointment (and I think I read this from another guest review) is that it is hard to find because basically most of the directions, the ones we found anyway, are rubbish. I thought we would find it ok, but not so. You are virtually past if before you see it and can turn off the busy road. Ah well, the nice cold lager by the side of the pool went down very well after thinking we would never find it!!

  • Liked — The Lager!! Relatively inexpensive
  • Disliked — The busy main road. Difficult to find.
