“Great complex location could be better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2011

Lovely complex with great pools. Clean spacious apartment. Location was a bit disappointing there was nowhere to walk to in the evenings no shops or restaurants other than the pool bar. Busy dual carriageway made walking anywhere difficult. Hiring a car is essential. Make sure you get a good local map before going we found it a bit confusing figuring out how to get to beaches, where to park etc. Well worth driving into the mountains to Caseras and Rhonda. Plenty of restaurants in the mountains that would be worth a try. Sunbeds were a little scarce but never a great problem as the pools were generally quite quiet considering how many apartments there were. Free WiFi in reception area. Overall a nice family holiday. P.S watch out for the steep ramps into the car park may damage the number plate on your car but plenty of on street free parking. P.P.S if you drive to Gibraltar go as early as possible we got there at about 11 am and queued for 2 hours to cross the border and worth asking for change in Euros Gibraltar pounds are difficult to use in the UK

Room Tip: Try and ask for block 5 section 2 basement apartment for a good pool

Very clean and modern but furnished in a minimalistic way, no dressing table, no cushions, not enough lounge chairs, only place to leave suitcase is on the floor, every concievable kitchen appliance but only one plug socket! Worktop space in kitchen is about 80cm x 80cm. Severe lack of sun loungers 7 pools but only about 8 around each pool, luckily it was not that busy but still you either had to get up at 7am and reserve some or be prepared to sit on the grass.
Staff very helpful, grounds are kept immaculately and very little noise in the area. Pools not cleaned as often as they should be as dead frog highlighted, nice pool bar but not always open! Would I go again, possibly, but next time I'd know what to expect

Stayed on this complex several times and at different times of the year, July and August although busier are never overcrowded and you can always get a space around the pool, also the chiringuta bar is open. The aparment I have stopped in is situated very close to the pool so in easy reach through the day for the pool and bar, but with a fully fitted kitchen that is always stocked with food and beer, there is no need to spend any extra cash. The residents are generally friendly and we have met the same people on consecutive years, and enjoyed many a night sat around socialising and bbq ing.

I am returning this year with younger children and stopping in a different larger apartment, which has all the conveniences to make the holiday a good one.

I have stopped with and without a car, and although the car does make things easier, we have managed quite easily using a local airport shuttle service and taxis to get about, but if your happy to stay by the pool and enjoy the lovely spanish sun through the day there is no need to move.

On an evening I would recommend, Estepona, Duqesa, Sabinillas and further afield a trip to Benahavis and for something a little different a trip to the Roman Oasis which is only a short taxi ride away.

Happy holidaying

Just returned from a four day break here with hubby. We had a two bed apartment which was spacious and had two lovely roof terraces which we would have really enjoyed if only the weather had held! Furnishings are OK, but there were no cushions anywhere which would have been nice, and no DVD player or iPod doc. Perhaps we've been spoiled in other accommodation we've stayed in recently, but I've come to expect these sorts of finishing touches, particularly from a 4* resort. The bed was easily the most uncomfortable I've ever slept (or tried to sleep) in! Kitchen was pretty well equipped, but mugs as well as cups would have been a nice touch. We had the Menu Del Dia in the restaurant on one day - thought it was pretty good for only 10 euros each. didn't get around to using the spa, but would guess it would be good - all the staff we encountered, reception, maintenance, cleaning and restaurant were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in Albayt Resort in June 2010. The apartments are nice and spacious. They have everything that the website says they have, i.e. washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle etc. Housekeeping only come every third day with clean towels and bedlinen. But you have the washing machine. There are a few pool's around the resort and they're quiet, so you have it pretty much to yourself. Unless you are planning on staying within the resort for the duration of your stay, you really do need a car. There's driving range and Spa for €67 per person for a month. There's a shop at the front of the resort called Shop and Buy which sells lots of British products. That's about a ten minute walk, (that was from our apartment which was to the middle of the complex), and that's the only shop for quite a distance. There's a pebble beach close by and a sandy beach a little further away, but it would be difficult to walk to because of the busy road. On the few occasions we had dealings with them, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. We would go back to Albayt Resort again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2010

My partner and I spent a week here in a private apartment at the end of May to catch some sun and chill out. The apartment was well appointed and fitted out - and the development clean and well maintained though it was apparent that May is very much out of season as the place was deserted and the pool bars were not open. On the plus side this meant the apartment was extremely quiet and we had the spa and driving range to ourselves. Note: the spa and gym facilities in the country club are subject to a supplemental charge of 67 E per person to use it for the week. Tennis is short or paddle tennis, rather than the full version and the golf is basically a driving range and a putting green. The staff in the country club were fairly helpful and we thought the charge was worth it - as there was not a lot else going on in this area. Unfortunately the location was an issue for us as access to the beach or neighbouring towns is by car only unless you fancy vaulting over the central reservation of a major dual carriageway...
