“Always fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

I've been a customer of Playa Bella for over 30 years. Pepe has become a good friend. We celebrate occasions at Playa Bella or just enjoy a romantic dinner there. We've been travelling so haven't been there recently but writing this review makes me want to go again soon

“You will not leave hungry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

After a very warm welcome from Pepe, it is not long before olives, hot garlic bread, and potatoe salad arrive on your table, in case you can't wait for your starter!
The star starter is the prawn and fruit salad served in a hollowed out pineapple...definitely not to be missed.
After many visits, I have settled on the tenderloin (fillet) steak for my main course, which can be served on a very hot slate, or with a very good pepper sauce. Their fries are also always excellent.
I regret that I have never been able to manage a dessert, but looking around, they look wonderful.
The bill arrives in a rather exotic wooden box, and the evening ends with complimentary apple schnaps.

“Why is this not rated number 1?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Pepe the owner always gives you a smile and a warm welcome. When we left he spotted us leaving and dashed across to bid us farewell- that is true service and appreciation! Back to the restaurant, it is small but like an Alladin's cave inside with lots of plants and greenery that gives a cosy feeling to the place. The menu is large and if you can't find anything to eat, well i would be shocked. Good sized portions, tasty and consistently well cooked food make this a must to visit.Oh, and throw in reasonable prices for Marbella, and what more could you want? Book especially on the weekend as the regulars can make this a busy place.Lastly, don't be put off by the outside of the building which doesn't look all that special, it really is worth going for a night out, and say hello to Pepe for me!

“instantly cosy feeling”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I have two apartments at Hacienda beach only 200 yds away from this "little gem", my familly come out on holiday a couple of times a year, have been passing this restaurant for 10yrs, and wondering what the place is like, it is tucked away quietly just off the main road, Well, my curiosty got to me and took a closer look, the doors were open so i went in and was greeted by a man i now know as Pepe,"As you can see we are cleaning up after a busy night, but please come in and look around". I instantly had that cosy feeling, that warm Spanish homely feel about the place, I KNEW the food and service were going to be exellent. And boy, was i right.
A LITTLE GEM!
