“Really good place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

We had 3 nights here and really enjoyed it. Good food, service and cleanliness

Not too expensive and the staff helped us with our Spanish. It was a spur of the moment booking but was well worth it.

This is a small hotel, homely furnished. Roomns are decorated in in white and grey and look nice. Bthroom is OK although a bit small. The hotel has a nice patio for a quiet drink. I had a surprisingly good dinner in the hote, with excellent servicel. Breakfast is good! There are several bars located nearby for a nice drinkl on a terrace in the evening. A small swimming pool is on the 4th floor, the roof. The staaf is friendly and helpful.
There is free Wifi in the whole hotel.

Good clean hotel, sound proof and 100 metres from ferry terminal to Cadiz, hotel parking or public car park. Try your Spanish whatever your level it helps make friends in the hotel. Not a great town but has the bordegas to visit, super church to appreciate the skill of stone masons. 1 main street with lots of shops very clean and bright and splendid places to eat and drink at reasonable prices. Sea food as you would expect a speciality. A trip tp Cadiz is a must with history, modern shops and good eating places. A word of caution take cash with you as the "Hole in the walls" DO NOT LIKE" English debit cards, although the shops do.

I see the last reviews are some time ago, so here's an update.

This hotel is on the riverside, a little way out of the town centre. It's right opposite the catamaran that runs to Cadiz, making it convenient for day trips. A large public car park just across the road charges 1€ to park - this seems to cover you for a couple of days or more, you just have to pay each time you re-enter the car park.

It's a well run and comfortable hotel. The best outlook is at the front overlooking the river, but the inner rooms overlook a tiled courtyard which is quite pleasant and peaceful. The beds are comfortable (although on the firm side) and the bedding and towels good quality. There's TV (mostly Spanish, as youd'd expect), a hairdryer, good bedside lighting, but sadly no fridge, which is disappointing in a hotel of this standard. The decor is smart and fresh in a business-like way, apart from a few stains on our carpet. The fullly tiled bathroom had a shower in the bath, and a hairdryer. There's a room safe, free to use.

The rooms and corridors are carpeted, which makes the whole place much quieter than when everywhere is tiled. On the ground floor there's a pleasantly laid out area with sofas and low tables, where snacks and drinks are served, and the local papers are available. Breakfast is in the more formal dining room. It's a continental buffet, with a good choice of breads (and a toaster), cakes, cereals, boiled eggs, hot sausages, cold meats, cheese, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The fruit juices and coffee were quite drinkable, which isn't always the case at such buffets.

There is WiFi, but no computer for guests to use if they haven't got their own. (There is an internet place in town, tucked in a side street - ask at the tourist office).

The rooftop has a pool (we didn't try it, it's no fun in the rain with biting gales!) and great views out over the town.

The hotel was very quiet when we were there - no sign of package tours, and few tourists at all. It comes over as a little formal and business-oriented, offering conference facilites etc.

It's about ten minutes' walk to the town centre, although that is nothing remarkable. The bullring looks impressive but was closed for repairs. The shops don't amount to much, but there's a good selection of places to eat, and you can visit a sherry bodega and sample the produce.

Overall, we thought this hotel offered good value for money.

This hotel was comfortable and clean with a nice breakfast. However, what impressed me more than I can express is how the lengths that the hotel handyman went to rescue my necklace from down the bath plug hole! It fell off the sink and went right into the drain as the water from my husband's shower took it straight in. The plumbing was not really modetrn so there were no traps to stop it. Anyway the handman went into the room downstairs the next morning, removed that bathroom ceiling to get access to our bath pipes. He then cut the pipes with a hacksaw, retrieved the necklace and soldered the pipes back together. He spoke no english nor us any spanish but he was determined to get it for us and before he settled on this final drastic solution had tried many other things. We were so grateful to him and although the hotel was decent he made it into 5 star service. Many thanks to him.

The hotel is on the riverfront, within walkable distance of central shopping/tourist area. Handy to railway station from where you can get to either Cadiz or Jerez by train in 15 mins. The hotel is across the road from the fast ferry to Cadiz- sea/river trip takes 20mins approx.
Ask for riverview room- they come with balcony overlooking the river activity
Train a much better way to Jerez than bus/taxi...fast & cheap!

I have to say that I read the reviews and I booked it nonetheless. Thank god I could cancel the 5 night stay after the first night and went to a newer/nicer hotel in downtown El Puerto.
Our room was a little bit run down and the security box wasn't working. The front desk wasn't very helpful. They didn't even offer us to accommodate in another room.
