Spent 4 days at this hotel recently and I have to say I was really impressed with this hotel.
We got a "premium room" (standard room), 3rd floor, with a sea-view from the balcony which we werent expecting but were very happy with. Being able to sit outside and hear the waves crashing nearby was wonderful. (though if you leave the balcony door open you may get mosquitos in your room, I did and got a few bites). The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was also lovely and spacious with separate shower and bath, double sinks, separate toilet and bidet area. Great friendly service on arrival, everyone spoke good English. Service was excellent for the 4 days , staff very professional, intent on doing a good job. Not overly smiley though. Breakfast was super, great, great selection, egg-chef to make fresh omelettes to order, lovely selection of fresh fruit, hot food , cold meats, cheeses, fish , no complaints with the breakfast at all.
The pool is area is lovely, the pool itself is cool (unheated) but warmed by the sun, very refreshing and designed such that there is a long middle area for anyone wanting a good lap swim. Lovely cushioned sub-beds all round the pool, never a problem with not getting one.
We went down to the beach a couple of days, just at the back of the hotel there is a gate leading down to a wooden path to the beach. Wonderful beach, great for a long walk / exercise.
The hotel provides sunbeds on the beach with a cabin to get towels and cool drinks (at hotel prices), but very welcome!
You do have to trek back to the hotel if you need a toilet.
Free wi-fi is a great bonus, as is free parking, so very happy with that. we stayed at a couple of other hotels on the trip that were marginally cheaper, but then you add the cost of parking and wi-fi and it suddenly isnt that good value!.
re the wi-fi, you need to get one sign-on page at reception per device you use, ie we had 2 iphones and an ipad so needed 3 separate logons for the 3 devices, which they didnt tell us at reception but we discovered after a frustrating day trying to figure it out ourselves. The wi-fi timed out regularly too so there was a lot of re-signing on to it, a bit of a pain.
Night-time : - There was a lovely atmosphere at night, candles on the tables outside the bar, and the lighting is such that it highlights the lovely architecture/arches in the hotel. Nice areas for sitting around with a drink . Cocktails were well-made and yummy.
Also there is a handy shopping center about 500m from the hotel,(turn left when you exit the hotel) it has a range of shops, restaurants, bars etc. Its an alternative option for drinks/dining if you fancy a change.
Got a free courtesy room offered to us to change in after the beach on check-out day as we wanted to make the most of our stay, this was a lovely offer which we availed of, thanks a lot!
A couple of points : - Its a large hotel and some of the rooms are quite a distance from reception/breakfast area, so if you are not a fan of walking / or cant walk easily then request a room closer to reception (though you wont get a good sea-view).
There are lots of sparrows flying and hopping around the patio restaurant /breakfast area, a little off-putting for me personally, but there is the option of dining inside if you prefer that.
We ate lunch at the restaurant one of the days, we thought it was rather expensive (5* prices, 90 Euros for 2, and the food was only ok, lasagne in particular was really poor). We didnt have dinner at the hotel so cant comment on that.
That said, I would highly recommend this hotel , it has practically everything for a great holiday by the sea, close enough to take a day trip to Cadiz or Jerez and be back in time for an evening dip in the pool or the sea. (btw we by got a very competitive rate by watching prices on trivago website). I would say dont hesitiate if thinking about booking this hotel, I dont think you will be disappointed, Go for it!
