“A gem of a hotel in a fantastic location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2010

This small hotel is tucked away in the maze of streets that make up the old quarter of Cordoba. However, once you have managed to find it you won't want to leave. It is a beautiful hotel where every travellers need has been anticipated. It is like a mini moorish palace, cool marble, arabic designs, and great attention to detail. The staff are fantastic, extremely welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was a delight and dinner at their restaurant a few doors away was also very good. We wished we could have stayed longer and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic peaceful oasis in Cordoba.

A dream, paradise, nothing one can anticipate! everything was PERFECT. Once arriving to this botique hotel, located in the best place, i,e in the mid of the old city, the manager greeted us with white wine and took care of our car, our checkin etc while we were resting in a beautiful welcome room with a good glass of wine.. the rest was just the same. exellent breakfast, friendly atmosphere, beautiful room with computer, wide TV etc... One can not ask for more. but above all is the hospitalily. We have been travelling in south spain for 2 weeks in beautiful places and we thought nothing could have surprised us any more. Well this place did and in big league!!!

"He" ran to greet me from the taxi and carried my bags inside. After confirming my booking, "would I like to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a local wine" while my bags were taken to my first floor room. ..... A good size room, free internet, huge wide screen tv, beautiful timber furnit ure, tiled bathroom and monogrammed bedlinen & towels. Hotel has been refurbished in the Andalusion style, is well run, well presented and extremely handy to restaurants, the tourist shops and the Mezquita Cathedral. A few dollars more to be in the old quarter but well worth it to save travelling in and out. Hotel recommended a Flamenco Show for 20 Euros. This show recently received a Cultural Award for presenting an authentic Flamenco Show nightly for 25 years! It was sensational. Only downside was noisy garbage truck one morning, but you're in the old quarter with its narrow streets & you have to be realistic and accept that life goes on while you're having your holiday.

We only stayed one night in Cordoba and this hotel was excellent. Every little detail was attended to from our sherry on arrival to a personally laid breakfast table on our private terrace in the morning. Our room was comfortable, spotless & quiet with an in-room computer. Very well situated in the old quarter right near the Mezquita. Taxis cannot take you to the hotel, though, but it is a very short walk from the old city gate.

If you manage to drive your car through the narrow streets of Cordoba to the hotel entrance, you're either a good driver or you're plain lucky. Either way, you'll be thrilled that the hotel manager offers to park it for you at the parking lot (wherever that may be).
After he's checked you in and shlepped your luggage to your room (what a contrast: oldfashioned furniture and a state-of-the art LCD tv -screen that serves as a computer with high speed internet), you're offered a welcome drink on the hotel's cute patio. You immediately feel at home within 10 minutes of your arrival. That's what great personal service does to you. El Churrasco has all the ingredients for a wonderful stay: service, location, comfort, charm. And what about that breakfast in bed? That's vacation!
El Churrasco is simply a hotel with a great personality.

We picked this hotel purely from the TripAdvisor reviews and I have to say we weren't disappointed! The only thing missing was the free sherry at check-in. Once we had found the place (tricky even with satnav and the streets are *very* narrow) it was perfect - the staff were very polite, professional and attentive. The room (we booked a superior room) was fabulous with ornate decoration, free PC with broadband internet, jacuzzi bath and massive flat screen TV. The bed was very comfortable too and the room service breakfasts delivered on time and absolutely scrummy!
Hotel is very well located for the Mezquita etc (5 mins) and we enjoyed exploring the back streets, fortified by regular tapas stops!
Criticisms? There was no information pack in our room, it could be slightly noisy at times at night (if you had windows open) as late night revellers returned home through the narrow streets outside, the air-con wasn't working (presumably as still too early in the Year although we were occasionally warm at night) - but these were minor niggles to what was a memorable and fantastic trip - the hotel is an absolute gem as others have commented and we will definitely be going back to Cordoba and to this hotel.

We found the Hospederia de El Churrasco to be our favorite hotel in Spain. Our room was quite large, furnished with; elegant antiques, a huge flat screen tv, computer, beautiful fans and the softest sheets. The staff was helpful, they insisted on lugging a giant breakfast tray upstairs every morning. You could order wine with your breakfast! The location was perfect. We would wander around all the little streets and just when we thought we were tired and lost-we would be back at the hotel. Our stay here was the high point of a wonderful three week, six hotel, trip to Spain. I wanted to stay forever!
