“A real Cordoban restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2014

This restaurant is definitely worth a walk out of the city centre as it offers a real Andalusian dining experience that you won't find in the overpriced and touristy parts. I'm not sure if any English is spoken there, as we speak Spanish, but it's definitely worth the hassle even if your Spanish is a bit rusty (or non-existent!). We had an 8-course taster menu starting with classic Iberican ham and cheese, and then a range of local foods such as salmorejo, cod croquettes, a stew made with goat meat and a mouthwatering chocolatey dessert, all of which was delicious.
However, what made the evening really great was our lovely waitress, Lourdes, who was always really attentive and very friendly! What's more, the decor is really amazing, with beautiful painted arches similar to La Mezquita and a covered outdoor area where you can sit if it's hot or you smoke. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place!

En español: Un encantador restaurante con decoración muy agradable, buena comida local y un personal muy amable (gracias Lourdes!). Lo recomendamos encarecidamente una visita!

“Much better than the more touristy places....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

Close to accomodation we ate twice here. Its a Spanish family place and the locals dont turn up till 9 or 10 so you can have a quiet meal from 8.10 onwards. Head up to the huge indoor outdoor patio with trees under a canopy; nice atmosphere, lots of plants, totally shaded. Aubergines done here best we tried, light, great using salmorejo as a dip. Baccalau (cod) with prawns was good. Cod and aubergine lasagna amazing. Jabuco marinated fish also delicious. Natillas for pudding great although we didn´t check out other postres. Service good too. We spent about 30 euros.

“Eggplant with honey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

This taberna is a must. The best fried calamares and fried eggplant with honey that I have had. The waiters and staff are not friendly, but they are efficient. Expect it to be crowded on weekends and plan accordingly. I have been to this taberna twice and both times really enjoyed the simple food. MUCH better tan the other touristy restaurants in the city!
