If you like atmosphere then this hostal is for you. Its small and quaint but the decor is modeled after the medejar style. There is a very nicely decorated lounge in the hostal to hang out in, although I never saw anyone hanging out in there. My single room was modest, as is to be expected, but was clean and newly painted and in good shape. There was very good A/C and also a TV in the room if you care. The bathroom was clean with hot water and good shower pressure. I got a peek at one of the double rooms and the bed was a beautiful teak arab style frame. My room was more modeslty decorated with a brass full bed and warm salmon colored walls. My room was on the top 3rd floor and there is no elevator and you have to carry your own bags; if this is a concern for you I would ask for a room on a lower floor. The staff is friendly but only the afternoon guy speaks some english. I seemed to get by with my poor spanish. Their website (---------------------) lists the wrong email address to make reservations and calling by phone can be difficult because of the language barrier. The correct email address is --------------------. Someone who speaks some english wrote me back to confirm my reservation. The location of the hostal was a short, quite, safe walk west of the main center of town. Its a little quieter in this part of town and away from the main action at night. There are shops and restaurants nearby. I felt very safe as a single female traveller walking around Cordoba at night. I paid 32 EU for my single room which is a very reasonable price for this lovely hostal.
