I lived less than five minutes from Plaza de la Corredera for three months and it is a fine place to go to sit and have a drink. It is not special, though. There are a few restaurants, but nothing worth going out of your way for. There are kids who play soccer in the plaza, and every now and again there are folks trying to sell bracelets or other small items. On the nice days, it is full of people and energy. On the rainy days, it isn't - but who would really want to be there on those days anyway? On a plus side, they clean the plaza every night with a hose and street cleaners, so if you go there early in the morning, you really shouldn't find trash laying around. If you are looking for a better place for shopping, I recommend Plaza de las Tendillas.
