Owner description: The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

“Cordoba stately home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

lovely building and courtyards. Superb interiors with world-class antiques, chandeliers, tapestries, rugs marred only by an obligatory and poor quality guided tour which rushed through without an opportunity to savour. Visitors are free to roam and take their time in the outdoor courtyards.

“A small gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

The Palacio Museo de Viana features a series of outside courtyards, each with its own special quality. We also participated in the house tour, which was interesting but only in Spanish. The guide was a bit gruff as well. However, the house and gardens were well worth touring to get the flavor of historical Cordoba and enjoy the courtyard patios. I would recommend taking the tour and seeing the gardens to get the full effect!

“Want inspiration for your garden?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

The guidebooks don't give this place much space so we weren't expecting too much but we really enjoyed strolling through the many patios. Before going in, take the time to watch the short video which explains how this place came about and tells you a bit about each patio. We didn't go into the palace itself as this was guided tour only and only in Spanish.
The really nice thing was that the plan of the patios had a list of the main plants in each patio so you left knowing what plants to look for on your next visit to your local garden centre.

“Slightly out of the way but not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Gorgeous maze of Spanish courtyards/patios...one prettier than the last! If you appreciate beautiful Spanish-style gardens, serene fountains and flowers, don't miss it! It's worth the 15-20 min walk outside of the Jewish Quarter. Recorded music playing in the background adds to the atmosphere. We opted for the courtyards-only admission without the tour of the interiors, and still loved it.

“How the Spanish Nobles Lived”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

One of the few fully restored palaces of a Spanish noble family inhabited well into the 20th century, with fantastic gardens and an interior which, although devoid of really first-class artistic masterpieces, showed of the old Spanish nobles lived in style. Worth a visit. Do not see the gardens only, take the guided tour of the home too
