The best parts of this visit are the views from the tower, the windows of the palace, and the gardens themselves. The palace itself (with the exception of some of the mosaics) is not super interesting. Maybe the audio guide would have helped in this aspect, but after paying 6.80 euros per person entrance fee, we just didn't want to put out another 3 euros each for that.
The signage could be better, both inside and out. Unless one is curious and likes to explore, it would be easy to miss some of the best bits of the garden. The major fountains in the reflecting pools were not on but even so the garden is lovely even in February--so glad that pansies were planted in the rose gardens, otherwise it would have been pretty bare.
It would be helpful if those who paid the reduced rate, would share how they got it! We were told at the ticket booth this was a set price.
