“Excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

Right next to the mesquita so a perfect location. As we found in Seville as well, GPS directions were impossible to follow so we ended up parking somewhere near and walking there. Reception was fine, English not very high standard. Note if you want to use WiFi on more than one device you need separate password for each one. Rooms clean and moderate size.

This hotel is extremely well located, just besides the famous and well knowed Cordoba Mosque, and the staff is very polite and helpefull. The rooms need to be refreshed. The hotel has a underground parking facility which is very convenient due to the hotel location.

An overnight stay in a plain room with small ensuite. The mattress was firm, too firm for my liking. The hotel has its own parking facilities thankfully, given the narrow streets and the limited vehicle access to the area around the Mezquita. Service was adequate if rather abrupt at times, particularly at the reception desk. We were surprised at being unable to get a drink from the bar after we returned from dinner late evening, but fortunately there were other places nearby. Breakfast was good and varied. All in all, I think this hotel rests on its laurels regarding its location.

This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the old town. Reception was warm and friendly and having the car park situated below was a huge plus. Car parked for you and keys delivered to the room. We arrived early and were told a room was being prepared for us. The only downside was this was probably done too quickly as the bathroom had not been cleaned properly (long hairs on the floor). Service in the bar was quick and friendly and the setting very tranquil.

Great location just opposite the famous Mezquita, and the room was adequate if a little tired, but it was very quiet and well priced for our 2 nights there. The lovely courtyard makes a very pleasant place for drinks or breakfast, especially on hot nights. Layout of the hotel is odd; we were in a far section, but just beyond the steps that joined it to the reception we discovered an underground excavation which is part of the archeological treasures of the town - you can walk over the perspex floors and look directly down into the unearthed walls. What a find!

It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and look out our window at the Mezquita in Cordoba. Great location. Hotel was a little dated but clean, comfortable with a tasty and buffet breakfast and a fantastic central location near the Mezquita and the river.
We would come back here again! Front desk was helpful.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights in early July. The hotel is not within walking distance from the station but the cab cost was only about €6 and we doubt we would have found it easily otherwise! It is opposite the Mesquita, the number one sight of Cordoba and within easy walking distance of many other of the recommended sights, including The Palacio de Viana and the Alcazar de los Cristianos which were our favourites. We also found an authentic Flamenco Show in the Arab baths just around the corner.

The hotel had an impressive entrance and the reception staff were pleasant. We had booked a "romantic break" but the room was a standard room - no attempt to give us any special view and there was just half a bottle of cava and a small packet of Lindor chocolates. The air conditioning did not work at all in our room and we asked to be moved the next morning. We were shown another room which also had defective air conditioning and were then offered the key to a room where we were told "the aircon works in that room". Since this room was vacant all along we were surprised not to have been given this room in the first instance! The TV only showed BBC world news - although it was advertised as having satellite TV.

We had a meal in the hotel on the night of our arrival. We were the only guests eating in the restaurant. The meal was adequate and reasonably priced but atmosphere was lacking. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and this was good. We also sat in the courtyard garden and found it most pleasant and cool.

There are ruins of the Mesquita within the hotel - but we only found them by chance - no information was given to us on our arrival.: odd not to have advertised the fact. In fact we weren't given any information pack in our room but the receptionist was very helpful when we asked her for a map, etc.

The hotel was clean and our room was quiet.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before you check in: although we were told the rooms were the same size they ar...
