“Unique and Well Appointed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

We had a fantastic stay at the Balcon de Cordoba and would strongly recommend this hotel to others. The hotel itself was first rate. Rooms were unique, beautifully appointed, clean, comfortable and stocked with amazing products (nice touch).

The hotel staff was super helpful, friendly and spoke English (multiple languages actually). The hotel is perfectlylocated and very close to major points of interest. Only negative was that noise factor in the morning was a bit high. Could hear voices, walking, and fountain very clearly.

I haven't been this impressed with a hotel in a very long time. Would recommend and stay again for sure.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are noisy.

lovely people and a lovely boutique hotel with archeological artifacts everywhere. All rooms were well maintained and nicely decorated. Some rooms opened only to an inner courtyard, but sometimes that can be better than the street. Staff exceptionally welcoming.

Room Tip: suite with terrace and suite real were best located in the upper part of the hotel.

We had a Royal suite with a very weird layout. Totally different that shown on the website... I thought we would have our own balcony instead it had awkward windows... Also they kept AC off before we got there so the room was very uncomfortable.... We left the key in when we left for dinner and when we got back AC was off again. I was traveling with kids so they charged extra money to have my kids on the same floor....

Thank you for your opinion, any comments are always helpful for the hotel in order to improve our services. We would however like to make a few comments for anyone reading the above published.

Our Suite Real is clearly described on our website, and has 8 photos uploaded for guests that are interested in having a look.
"Open in the splendour of the main facade of the Orange-tree Courtyard, with a stunning display of captivating windows among ancient columns and capitals, every inch in this 75m2 royal suite is a quest for a perfect balance between luxury, good taste and wellness, with a pinch of audacity." The Suite was the original library/office and main bedroom of the house and it´s layout is an L-shape room which makes for it´s original character and shape.

"Balcón de Córdoba opens 10 rooms (5 doubles, 1 deluxe, 1 junior suite, 2 suites, 1 royal suite) distributed in two floors around three courtyards". Our Suite Real does not have any double room located closeby. As a result of our guests request upon check-in, to place the family closer together we offered the closest available room, at a discounted rate, which was of a superior category than that of their reservation. In this case, we had a full hotel and the best option available in order to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
Our Suite Real, our family suite however, can host a family of 4 with a sofa bed and an extra bed should any family wish to do so.

Our key system has been selected in order to preserve our environment as well as our laundry service, whereby are changed upon request. Our key cards carry a card which can activate the lights and air conditioning within the room upon arrival and removed when leaving the room.
We are terribly sorry that the card was removed whilst not in the room, however I would like to emphasize that our air conditioning system is strong enough to cool down the room very quickly upon arrival.

The team at Balcón de Córdoba strive to conserve the environment at all times, just as we would in our very own homes. Our guests are in their "home" here at Balcón de Córdoba.

We do hope this comment has been helpful. Travel Safely, and we hope to see you soon.

Charming small hotel near the Mezquita. Great unique rooms with several private patios. The roof top terrace has a tremendous view and is a great way to end the day. The staff is charming and very helpful

Ok, the name says about 50% of the story: the location right in the middle of the Old Jew Quarter. Best for this kind of visit. In about the same location there are other hotels, but none with this level of charm or quality (you also pày for it).
The other 50% of the story is what you are told when you arrive: please feel at home. Unexpected, and absolutely true.
There is an excelent and essential valet parking service if you arrive by car. Besides, once arrived, you probably make the rest of the stay on foot.
As a summary, this is a boutique hotel, very romantic and with the best day and night views in town. Very new in a 400 years house, lots of details, and a back entrance that comes in the city guides as a place to take a photo (callejon las flores). What a privilege !!

Balcon de Cordoba was a beautiful small hotel. It was my “splurge” hotel for the trip, and worth it! Decorated in soothing whites & taupe’s with a beautiful courtyard when you enter. Our room is very nice and beautifully decorated with a nice size bathroom and double sinks. The only problem was the only exterior widow is in the bathroom – the others all open into the courtyard below. If staying there again, I would request a room with an exterior window, but I suppose those maybe more expensive.

The rooftop terrace is incredible with amazing view of the Mezquita and the city. They will also serve you drinks and nibbles up there.

Breakfast at the hotel was a nice selection of the usual meat/cheese/pastries/cereals/fruit, but also included made to order eggs, Vienna sausage and bacon. The price of breakfast is included. The young woman helping at breakfast who also ran the front desk during the day was extremely helpful and spoke excellent English.

Excellent location just around the corner from the Mezquita in the Jewish Quarter.

We stayed at this hotel in May 2012 and felt it is"Punching above its weight"

Compared to other Hotels we stayed in we felt this one was over priced and did not offer value for money.

The lay out of the breakfast area is not good.

We felt the breakfast was limited. Difficult to obtain cooked items which had to be requested through the reception staff who also worked in the breakfast area.
Tea and coffee not necessarily served to our requirements and cold by time we drank it.
On one occasion we found out of date yoghurt.

Air conditioning was not available in the hotel during our stay.

We were not offered as choice of pillow as advertised or a welcoming drink as advertised.

Some rooms have just a small window and are consequently quite dark.

It seems that "If you want something" "You will have to ask" Nothing offered.

There is no bar but I assume if you ask you can get a drink.

We felt this Hotel pretends to be something it isn't.
