“Outdated but still relaxed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Location is very quiet, rooms are large and fairly good equipped. The breakfast was good escpecially when there is no large groups around.
Too bad the swimming pool was not opened due to bacteria or something (it was Feb)
furthermore the service was fine including Free Wifi and Free parking.
A bit far of city centre but the area El Brilliante is very nice to drive through

Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for choosing Ayre Hotel Córdoba and for posting such a nice review about our hotel.
I am so glad you liked our hotel, our neighborhood, our gastronomy and the complimentary services that we offer.
I apologize if you expected the pool to be opened in February, let me explain that due to the weather being so cold through the winter, the pool season runs normally from the end of May until mid September.
Thank you very much once more and please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
Yours Faithfully,

The hotel is really comfortable, the bedrooms very spacious, lounges comfortable and well furnished, swimming pool, staff friendly, free Wifi etc but... The location of the hotel appears to be in the affluent suburbs of Cordoba and it seemed during our brief visit that there was absolutely nothing near-by. It would seem that this hotel is one used frequently by tour groups or caters for large functions. Getting to the centre of Cordoba did not seem walkable and that presented one or two problems. Otherwise a very comfortable hotel.

Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for choosing Ayre Hotel Córdoba during your visit to this wonderful city.
We are glad that you found the hotel, the bedrooms, the pool and the free WIFI up to your likings. What most pleases me though, is with no doubt, your comment regarding the friendliness of our staff.
Regarding our location, please let me specify that we are located at Cordoba’s most exclusive residential area, only 4,2km from the city centre, which, as you mention, is not an easily walkable distance, but it is only an 8 minutes ride by car or taxi.
Likewise, very close to the hotel, there are 2 public bus lines (10 and 13) which run directly to the city center every few minutes.
After reading your comment, I have met with the Front Office team and have requested them to give all information in our hands to our overseas visitors, in order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Thank you very much once more for your comment, which will clearly help us in our daily mission of improving the quality our service.
Yours Faithfully,

Stayed here for one night as part of a Spain/Portugal tour. I am so glad that I only stayed here one night. There really isn't anything close by that you can walk to. Your best bet is either taking the city bus or a taxi into town. And even at that, there really isn't much to choose from once in town. It's possible that where this hotel is located, there isn't much going on. The only thing going for the city is the Mesquita. I would never want to stay here again. The staff was nice and courteous but the hotel was too old and creepy looking for my taste. It definitely needs to be renovated. The room was very big with a flat screen tv, free safe and wifi. Although the wifi was extremely slow, it's still something. I don't know if it's just me, but don't Spaniards believe in air conditioning? Thank goodness it was the end of October. If it was summer, I would really be in a bad mood. I could have opened the windows but since we were on the first floor, I'd rather not take the chance of someone or something getting in our room. One other thing I forgot to mention, you might want to bring your own bar of soap when visiting Spain. For some reason, they don't believe in bars of soap either. They only provide you with shower gel.

Room Tip: Don't bother booking this place. It's out of the way and kind of looks like a psych ward on...

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you very much for choosing Ayre Hotel Córdoba for your stay in this wonderful city and World Heritage Site.
We are glad that you liked the size of our rooms, our big TV screens, the free safe and the free WIFI connection, however, what pleases me most of all, is your comment regarding our nice and courteous staff. Thank you very much.
I am so sorry that the only thing you found worth visiting in Córdoba was The Great Cathedral and Mosque, for your next visit, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be more than pleased to recommend you an endless list of amazing attractions and activities to visit and enjoy.
Other very useful tool is the “plan your perfect trip” at Tripadvisor´s home page, you only have to insert the name of the city you will be visiting in the “Plan the perfect trip” text box, and then click in “Refine Search” and choose “Attractions”, a full list of the city’s main attractions will deploy and you will be able know them, read the comments of other Tripadvisor users and plan your trip to an exciting experience.
I am sorry you found the speed of the free WIFI connection and the air conditioning power not to be enough, during your stay, I can assure you that we have been working in the improvement of both services since your stay.
Regarding the lack of a bar of soap in your room, I apologize for the inconvenience caused, I has been an inadvertence of us, as our Service Procedures dictates that we must provide with Shower Gel and Shampoo in the bath or shower and a soap bar besides the sinks, apart from the rest of amenities.
Thank you once more and please do not hesitate to contact us in a future stay, it will be with pleasure that we will do anything in our hands to make your stay enjoyable.
Yours faithfully,

Jacobo Lope

If you like to spend your siesta at the swimming pool, this is a good choice.
The hotel is large as is the pool, location is very quiet. The staff is very helpful and generous in upgrading for instance for a double bed. Although the hotel itself is a bit outdated, the good price makes it worth five stars. It is easy and preferable to take a cab to the center and back, while in Cordoba center it is almost not possible to drive your own car without getting scratches or worse.

We stayed here on a SAGA tour and my over-rinding memory is ho wuch it echoed. Even the door handles squeaked, especially the one to the bedroom loo. If I sat up in bed, my bed slid down the room, which was really annoying. Otherwise can't fault it. Pleasant gardens.

Fantastic hotel in the posh part of Cordoba.
5 star luxury hotel with 5star service and prices.
We walked 20 minutes down hill to the local shops for a drink and an evening meal.
Breakfast was a well set buffet affair with some hot foods.

This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. It is very beautiful, luxirious, clean. It's awesome! There is marble everywhere.
The breakfats is served in a beautiful restaurant. The variety of food is endless. You can enjoy hot buffet, cold cuts (deli meat, cheeses). There are some traditional Andalucian treats like baked tomatoes, olives. The breakfast also offers a variety of freshly baked croissants, breads. There are fruits like pineapples, apples, bananas and others.
The parking is FREE. And they have an outdoor pool set in a beautiful garden.
The hotel is just 5 min drive to the historic center of Corboba. The historic cneter is stricktly pedestrian anyways, so you can drive and park your car nearby.
The hotel staff were very friendly. You can ask them for a map and they can provide you with information where to park and will circle for you the main attractions.
We tried the restaurant at dinner. It was very good and not too expensive as other restaurants in Europe.
On the next morning we drove to Medina Azahara, which is an amazing site just 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel, which was very convenient for us.
Overall, we strongly recommend this hotel.
